Horror films

I loved House Of The Devil... and thought it built up wonderfully to it's terrifying climax.

But... it was a 10 minute chase with some random bearded dude / satanic ritual we've seen dozens of times. The demon or whatever had a a very mid design as well. I also genuinely don't think I like Mumblehorror in general.

That said, I watched Hell House, LLC afterwards and was on the edge of my seat the whole film! Really, really well done. I was so pleased to actually be remotely frightened after MaXXXine (camp) and House of the Devil (boring) back to back. That clown? No ma'am!

Just finished Deep Red (1975) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kills were so brutal (and iconic, one of which directly inspired a scene in Halloween II), but soundtrack is so jaunty and fun.
Have you watched Phenomena yet? Or Inferno? Tenebre, even. All weird Argento gems that go underlooked because of Suspiria.

Alien Romulus was good. However, someone please explain why Andy said the “Get away from her, you bitch” line? Was that just an unexplainable reference or was there a reason?
One of the lads had called Andy a bitch earlier on, so in-world he’d heard it as an insult. But it just felt like complete fan service.

Seeing the comments on Grotesquerie, I decided to give it a go. 5 episodes in and I'm loving it. Even my other half is completely engaged (the naked priest might help that). I thought all the episodes were there but 3 more to come so will have to slow down with the rest. The best Ryan Murphy horror series in years.

Imma binge this when it's all done in one setting, I can't be bothered to be cockteased every week.
