Horror films

They say Ghost Whisperer quickly descended into Jennifer wearing cunty clothing and whispering to ghosts, camp.

I wasn’t aware of the apparent? beef between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt until just now.

J-Love touches on that in the video @bonnieetclyde posted on the last page; accusations that a then-18-year-old TV actress had the power to have SMG's character killed off.

I think Sarah's reaction here is just on the back of her being reprimanded for leaking that set photo. She doesn't want to risk it.

The Mean One on Amazon Prime was ok, The Grinch being violent basically. I didn't feel it was campy enough, but had some funny death scenes.

Edit: Just seen that the Mean One was played by the same actor that did Art the Clown in the Terrifer films. He was definitely a stand out in the film!

One thing I also loved about Oddity is that it was refreshingly straightforward as just a spooky, old-fashioned ghost story. Smile 2 was a huge improvement on the original but it's continuing this "Trauma Is The REAL PeePeePooPoo Man!!" trend in modern horror that is very tired by this point.

I'm a Talk To Me hater purely because I would either like some new ideas or just some straightforward horror without it feeling like the creator forcefully justifying the horror genre through subtext.

Other side note, but I watched Rabid Grannies for the first time (thanks to Vinegar Syndrome) and the 80s really was the wild wild west for horror.

I did a hatrick of cheap Tubi slasher pics over the past week:

- Another Cabin in the Woods Movie (3/5); turned out it was actually shot as a straight-up movie in 2016, flopped, so they added 'hilarious' audio to it in the form of a background radio that discusses the plot as it goes, with the cast entirely oblivious to it.

- Deadly Detention (2.5/5); another attempt to make a Breakfast Club horror movie. Cheap shit but the lead actress was actually pretty funny.

- Killer Body Count (2.5/5); from the director of the Slumber Party Massacre remake - horny teens sent to a Catholic abstinence camp. Lots of female-gaze shots of hot young men and some gory murders, but shouldn't be almost two hours.

I never knew this existed but the audacity of releasing this is hilarious. We think it's bad now but humanity was in the TRENCHES when things like Epic Movie were getting theatrical releases.

I've been on a Tubi, 80s/90s TV Movie/Straight To Video watch recently. None really horror but the best of the bunch was Freeway from 1988 (Not the great Reese Witherspoon from the 90s). It was very 80s with 'sex sax' whenever there was any kind of sexual energy but was fun to watch. It helped it had a hot mysterious stranger, played by the very hot James Russo.

I am discovering a lot of stuff that I missed from the 80s/90s on Tubi, most I shouldn't have bothered with but curiosity satisfied.

Looks like your thought was spot on, Sarah Michelle Gellar has just posted saying her “deer in the headlights” reaction was because she’d already broken an NDA this month. And she shared Jennifer Love Hewitt’s announcement post. Sweet!

So glad Jennifer is back, I was worried when they started without her.

I couldn't be more thrilled Jennifer is returning, and I'm going to assume the dragged out announcement - and all the questions surrounding it - was all intentional buzz-building, but I'm still very nervous about the film itself.
