Horror films

I remember liking Psycho 4 as a kid yet the last time I watched it fell pretty flat. Maybe the horniest movie ever though next to Cherry Falls. Olivia was great casting as Mrs. Bates and overall Psycho is indeed a pretty strong little franchise. Hell I even "enjoy" the remake as some weird expensive experiment.

It gets a lot of unneccessary shit. But what was that ...cow?

Abigail was awesome, I love all of the one-liners in there. I heard the director was influenced heavily by Lost Boys and knowing what I know about that film, you can certainly connect the dots there pretty quickly. I don't know if there are plans for future films, but you could definitely do them if you wanted to. I certainly hope so.

My god the cinematography in Nosferatu was stunning. The performances were mostly great and the rats, cats, dogs, and horses ate down.

The pacing was a little messy, especially by the time Orlok arrives in Germany, and I think they could have done more at the castle. I did enjoy that the movie leaned into some of the absurdity of spooky folktales (Sign this mysterious contract!!! I will visit you for three nights!!!).

The carriage scene and the wolf chase are still swimming in my head.

Smile 2 was…not good. Stylish, expensive, fun premise but seriously lacking in the scare department. I thought the first was much creepier, though Naomi gave a fantastic performance.
I liked it but I agree 1 felt more scary. The smiling people weren't creepy enough for me in 2 and I ended up laughing rather than being scared.

Not a bad little low-concept slasher...

Waitress unknowingly buys a stolen phone which has a snuff film on it, original owner wants it back and is happy to get stabby. Final girl is played by the best friend chick from Prom Night (y'know, the one we all preferred to the actual heroine), plus it has Deon Richmond from Scream 3 and... !? ... Perez Hilton in a cameo.

Well I loved Longlegs in all its style-over-substance and nonsensical plot glory, so I have high hope for this:

I'm not as certain about this one. I'm not familiar with the video game, and the director's past work doesn't excite me, but it's intriguing. I just wonder if it's going to leave me with more questions than satisfaction.

That Until Dawn trailer looks so cheap. They had the easiest task to make a movie in the spirit of Cabin in the Woods (except not as annoying) where characters make all the "right" decisions and stay alive - that's the fun part of the game, and the best slashers have you rooting for the characters, anyway. Just take a look at this thread's perpetual stanning of I Know What You Did, Black Christmas and Friday the 13th 2. What they went with instead looks like some ugly meta Blumhouse mess
