Horror films

Yesterday was just one of those days where everything seemed to get on my nerves. Thankfully, Heart Eyes came along and saved the day! I was literally on the floor. I laughed way too hard at the botox joke, Ally's reaction to seeing a killer in her closet, the proposal in the opening, the "doomed lovers"-campaign... the list goes on.

It was also surprisingly gorey. If I hadn't already been traumatized by a certain kill in Prom Night II 25 years ago, one of the opening kills would've been too much for me (what was that thing anyway?)

The killer reveal was a bit of a let-down, but really, there weren't that many characters it could've been, so no surprises there.

And, I did not realize one of the detectives was Devon Sawa!

In short, I had fun, will watch it again.

For my sins I watched Jason Goes To Hell last night. I try to watch a different one each Friday The 13th. I had just bought that & Jason X on 4K. I saw Jason X a while ago and part 9 is the one I've seen least. It was also the first one I think I saw at cinema. Curiosity satisfied and won't waste a other Friday The 13th on it. It's definitely the Freddy's Dead of the franchise. To be safe I normally go for 2, the best but I had forgotten what some of the others were like. It shall now be an ornament to sit with my other franchise films.

Jason Goes To Hell was rough.

My first Friday in the cinema was Jason X. Still love it.

I have a soft spot for Jason Goes to Hell. Some of my favourite kills, the early 90s aesthetic, and as a ten-year old gay kid, Michael B Silver did things to me.

I also love Jason X and I would happily go to a screening if there was one near me.

I honestly truly believe Michael B Silver was the first time I was like "Ohhhh". Even hotter now.

I had such a blast with Haunted Ullster Live! It felt super creepy and the Halloween, autumnal mood was great. The best comparison I can make is it's like a spiritual sequel to Ghostwatch and even though it's defined as a horror-comedy on streaming platforms, it's much heavier on the horror. I would also compare it to The WNUF Halloween special without leaning so hard on the goofy aspects of it. It kept me thinking about it afterwards as well. It wrapped everything up just enough but also leaves some mystery there, too.

It was very refreshing because Blue Hour was laughably bad.

Ok so Clown In A Cornfield was fucking brilliant. It wasn’t scary in the slightest, but the comedy was absolutely perfect.

Best slasher comedy in a very long time.
I just watched it last night, surprising good film, which you wouldn't expect from the title or poster.

It is from the director of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil.

The actor was played Rust was hot, not usually my type but...

I thought it was really good too. Comedy worked and characters were very likeable. I did think the twist reminded me of something recently, which wasn't half as good.
It reminded me of...

Dead & Buried (1981)
