Le Click is not La Bouche, but that single cover could fool anyone. To add to the confusion surrounding 'Tonight is the Night', Melanie Thornton of La Bouche fame actually sings on it.
Here's how it happened—the label had two dance projects, Le Click and La Bouche, both with Melanie doing vocals. They released their debut singles 'Tonight is the Night' and 'Sweet Dreams' pretty much simultaneously. Melanie then went with the more successful act, which was, well, not this one.
Le Click carried on with Kayo Shekoni, who took the lead on subsequent singles like 'Call Me'.
On backup duty there is eventual Captain Jack member Maria Lucia Lozanes. We've got a lot of overlap when it comes to Eurodance groups.
Their finest moment, of course, is the self-titled 'Captain Jack', but I should probably stay at least a little bit on topic and post something she's in.
Meanwhile, Kayo later went to Eurovision with Swedish girlband Afro-Dite. Let me promo @Empty Shoebox's Melfest rate because it's amazing. Their signature hit, by the way, is still in the game!
(In other random Poptartjusticeness, she once did a song with LFO, because boybands must be mentioned in every reveal if at all possible.)
Tragically, Melanie passed away in a 2001 aviation accident along with two of the girls from bubblegum dance act Passion Fruit.

@WowWowWowWow (10) - Oh Le Click. Eventually you'd have Kayo from Sweden and that was fun. This is perfection but Call Me or Don't Go might be 10.5's. Get on Spotify already!!! Nice of them to sneak this onto the back of the La Bouche album (even though it was the same vocalist) and assume that people would wonder "Why does it say LE CLICK before the song title?"
In fact it does. Oh wow indeed.

@One Stop Candy Shop (6.5) - It's such a basic Europop dime in a dozen but I somehow get my life a little bit.
@ThisIsRogue (5.5) - Gets an extra half a point for the Robin S. 'Show Me Love' moments. The true winner of this rate.
The reggae/ragga bits weren't a highlight, but they didn't ruin it for everyone...
@ohnoitisnathan (6) - I didn't know this previously... I see that Melanie Thornton does vocals on it (think I read about that on her wikipedia page, actually). As for the song - I was going to give a it a higher score until the very unnecessary ragga voice came in for the verses. The chorus is fab, though.
@Seventeen Days (8) - Fun fact: I NEVER knew until now that Melanie Thornton sang this track too. Her voice alone makes this a classic. Only thing I could do without is the reggae-sounding guy’s shouts, they don’t work with this one.

@Empty Shoebox (6) - Sounds a bit too much like 'Mr Vain' for me, and I heard 'Mr Vain' first, so I think of this one as forgettable.

This is the early stuff, though considering its US success came several years after the fact, I don't blame you!

Haha my first experience with "Tonight Is the Night" was actually when I bought the Sweet Dreams CD that is mentioned in this writeup, so I always knew about that situation all along.
I actually enjoy the reggae interjections in the song and in a lot of eurodance which is odd but I don't always appreciate them as much in general pop music.
I wonder if @iheartpoptarts can get a boyband reference into all her write-ups? Challenge given, hehe.
It averaged a #44 during the voting period, so I would say we kind of underrated it a bit. I honestly thought it might be Top 20 before the rate just because I considered it to be so much of a classic.

Martin Erikssen better known as "E-Type" was the son of Bo 'Bosse' Erikssen well known from the science TV program Vetenskapens Värld or World of Science. So maybe the Swedish version of Bill Nye the Science Guy? When you Google E-Type chances are the first entry right above the musician will be the Jaguar E-Type and this where his name came from actually, it was based on his father's car. Another story is that somebody once referred to Martin as "that E-fellow" and the name stuck.
He music career began as a drummer of all things and for a metal band named Hexen House and then the speed metal band Manninya Blade but that didn't end well according to Martin: "They actually fired my ass when I humbley suggested that mayby not all songs have to be 12 minutes long and all about dark death and doom."
We'll get to his career breakthrough when we eliminate "This Is the Way" so fast-forward to 1998 and The Last Man Standing era. It was his third album (all with Max Martin in tow) and the one that would solidify his status as Swedish national hero. After having experimented with various styles of dance music in recent years, E-Type decided to go back to his 'roots' and make the euro-disco flavored music he had first become known for. Both "Angels Crying" and the second single "Here I Go Again" (both amazing) had the public interest foaming at the mouth before he dropped the album and disappointed no one. There is a wall of gold/platinum records in E-Type's house dedicated to this era, so that should tell you. He was nominated for the 1999 Swedish Grammy in the category of Modern Dance (so was dr. Bombay).
One major thing I should point out is that one of E-Type's better friends, a producer named Denniz Pop passed away from cancer while making this album and this song is considered a farewell tribute to him.
The female vocalist you hear is Nana Hedin who you'll hear on more than half of E-Type's discography. The main dancer in the band, Dilnarin "Dee" Demirbag, is seen in most early videos (including the tow in this rate) and lip-syncs the songs, but you are hearing Ms. Hedin.
So yeah, I had to include a single from E-Type's most successful album to date and I could've picked either of the first two because they are both brilliant. Just listen to "Here I Go Again" and judge for yourself:
I figured E-Type's vocal style, especially his rapping voice might be off-putting to a new listener. @Eric (10) - E-Type was a great element of this rate - hadn't heard of them previously but I've instantly fallen in love. This song is instantly dramatic and hooks you in, and the (unintentionally?) hilarious video is the cherry on the cake.

As for Nana, she did Melodifestivalen on her own in 2005 with a classy bop and made it to the Second Chance round, but unfortunately did not make the final.
