Hi guys, Some uesrs are well aware and know to enable images from Imgur without the s in http to make them work... But not all members and it's a bore having to open every image that not works in a new tab, change it and see it. It's not good for the experience. It would be nice if the admins would make some magic (code) and for us, change every imgur url to automatically remove the s out of https. Same kinda stuff happens with embeds right? Can that be done? Thanks.
I think embeds are a built in function of xenforo, nothing specific to the site. Perhaps we could use a word filter / replacement pattern, similar to 'I cannot use words properly'?
I feel like there was a discussion about why it is bad for these links to be changed from https to http. Tech support, where you at? Also I’m pretty sure the changes to imgur were put in place to stop how forums had been embedding their content. So I kinda doubt that Peter would approve anything that tries to break another sites Terms of Service (assuming that it’s even possible to make a code). If you see someone always reaching for an imgur gif, send them a PM suggesting they choose gifs from a different image upload site.
Unfortunately, aside from Peter, all we have access to do is changes to users and accounts, we have no control over the mechanics of the site.
Thanks for the quick replies. I can't really be bothered to PM every time a imgur gif gets embedded wrongly... @Popjustice can you give your thoughts? Thank you. The replacement option like the text filter, would probably work but only if that's OK with Imgur of course.
