In light of their impending comeback, not having a thread in this forum yet and being generally flaw-free, I thought it would be a good time to start a topic on them (while they are still flaw-free, because those teasers don't have me hoping).

    GODFINITE.

One of the best boygroups, and certainly in the top 2 or 3 dancing groups. Something we'll hopefully see more of in the new comeback, that is if they aren't too busy holding kittens and shopping for sweaters at the Gap.

So far, for me, everything about the teasers for their comeback screams a male version of "Tell Me, Tell Me". Which might not necessarily be a bad thing, but I would hope for so much more.

The group teaser sounds a whole lot better than any of the solo teasers:

I just listened to the mini and I have to say it is very disappointing. The title track was definitely a very pleasant surprise, but the rest of the EP is every bit as bad as the teasers had us thinking. If you've heard one, you've heard 'em all (except that intro, which is all kinds of weird). Even the group version of 60 Seconds, which I was really looking forward to, was a let-down.

The only thing that amazed me was wikipedia telling Hangul-impaired me that the fourth track is called "The Place Where Longing Feeling Touches / Still I Miss You".

  7. The mini is pleasant enough, but bar the title track there's nothing amazing. They tend to be hit and miss with albums, with their debut mini standing head and shoulders above the rest.

What kinda 70's disco CLASSIC is that last track though!?!! Where the hell did that come from??? Why can't I stop playing it!?! What's going on!?!? Why is there a random laugh at the start??

I like to imagine the laugh is Dongwoo.

  9. New mini ia all about title track and last track which is amazing. Rest is "meh". Too light, bland and just lack of punch. And using remake of Sunggyu's solo as album track is very lazy.

It is sort of ironic that the album is called New Challenge and yet there's really nothing new or challenging about any of the material. Having said that it is extremely cohesive, which is far more than can be said for many a K-Pop album. I like how it sticks to this sort of summery 80's vibe, even if we've heard it from them before and better.

Hopefully the next comeback is more daring (and some time later this year). It seems they go in cycles of "adventurous comeback" ---> "safe comeback", so maybe this is just one of the safer ones.

Their comeback stage was also really good. They're just incredible dancers.

(Skip to 5:27 for Man In Love, the first performance has too much out of control fangirl screaming.)

Frankly their look is always slightly the same but thankfully that look is amazing and suits them well so I don't mind.

The short hair on Sungjong and Sungyeol is doing wonders for them!

  15. Their new look is more in line with The Chaser. I love the theme and concept of that era and wished it was the blueprint of their "look". Maybe it will stick.

  18. So I randomly decided to revive this thread for the sole purpose that I can say with my little Inspirit heart that I posted in Popjustice's Infinite thread. Btu seriously, I was excited because I finally got an online friend (not from the forum but from a podcast I listen to that has nothing to do with music) and she became obsessed with the group (I literally sent her a YouTube playlist of every video and obviously I had told her about the members.) So she knew that I got into them late and she said to me oh I hope you get to see them in person one day, so I explained the whole well Hoya left, military enlistments, Myungsoo leaving Woolim, etc, and I guess it got my wheels turning.

I started to think about a reunion concert, what it would be like, pure fantasy obviously, but putting songs in a setlist order and thinking about concepts is something I've been doing since my Spice Girl days many moons ago (showing my age there.) Then it just came to me. Near the end of the concert, after performing The Eye, while the others are singing I Hate, Hoya is doing this dance routine with the background dancers on the level above the other guys, some like Hit The Sage level stuff. At the end Hoya disappears and then the six sings Tell Me. At the end of that, some sort of military enlistment music plays as Sungkyu is lowered below the stage and the 5 remaining sing Clock. Then as With...plays on the screen showing clips of them all through the years, solo stuff, etc. The five remaining guys are still standing on the stage but with a dim light over them when the video starts. One by one they are lowered down in the order they enlisted obviously leaving L until last and the video finishes with about 1/3 of the song left. Once that ends, the encore starts with another OT6 song, but Hoya comes out with them. After that is Nothing's Over and I'm not sure what the final-final song should be but yeah. (Yes I know very liberal borrowing from the Return of the Spice Girls Tour---I'm not that creative.)

This will be a lonely post on a lonely island but I just wanted to share my thoughts and my excitement that I converted someone into Infinite and she doesn't even listen to KPOP.

  19. Mess at most of this thread being complaints about the New Challenge mini - Man in Love is one of their absolute best, As Good as it Gets and Beautiful are phenomenal album tracks, and 60Sec is great enough to justify its regurgitation. Also mess at no one clocking how disastrous Inconvenient Truth was - the video they showed at their live shows was appalling.

  20. I was noticing that too...LOL. While Man in Love isn't in my holy trinity of songs, it's still very high on my list and has actually grown over time. What I actually like about the video was that is was so bright and vibrant as they hadn't really done that for a good while at that point. I mean you can only die/be dead/fight so many times in a video (and they did that a lot, LOL)---but I love all those, The Eye was their masterpiece when it came to videos, I don't care what anyone says.
