Inna - General Discussion

Discussion in 'Pop & Justice' started by Matt, Sep 28, 2016.

  1. The album is stunning. I just wish it was released on streaming! But this wouldn't be a fantastic INNA era without a horrible album roll out. Its just par for the course at this point.

The album sounds similar to what she was doing between self-titled to Nirvana. Nothing new for her but the quality is high regardless.

  2. I’ll wait for it to be available on Spotify but I’m pretty excited.

  3. According to the video notes on YouTube it will be on Spotify on 12/4

  4. This kind of feels like a quick way for her to get the EDM stuff out of the way because Lord knows her fans won't shut up about it. During the Dance Queen House series there was a Q&A where someone asked if her new music is going to sound like 2010s. I feel sorry for her honestly. I mean, her first three albums were full of songs that sounded identical. You would think that would have been enough.

  5. Yeah... I'm not sure how I feel about this teebs. A couple songs stand out to me but this is very much an album that'll have to grow on me when I'm in the right mood.

A bit annoying it's on YouTube for a week.

  6. This is the Inna vibe I love, like other posters have said, very in between self titled and Nirvana. Lots of wistful holiday romance style bops with that almost melancholy edge her vocals lend to most of the tracks.

  7. While I really enjoyed her first two albums, they loop a bit too much for me. They're bops in their own respect, but her growth beyond that has really solidified her as an artist worth listening to. I don't get how anyone could be that stuck in 2010 to still want THAT from her.

This album is good, there's songs that are popping out to me more than the others. Overall it's a solid release. Gucci Balenciaga is really hitting HARD though.

  8. She seems stuck between two opposing camps. On one side we have the people who reject any evolution in her musical style, and on the other we have the people who are bored with her EDM music and want her to evolve. It seems shes stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I personally loved both her EDM stuff and Yo, so either direction would work for me. I really enjoy this project as I also probably would if she had gone the opposite route. But I can see how Yo fans would feel this project is a little been-there-done-that for her. Regardless, the music quality seems high even if its not new ground for her.

  9. At long last.

  10. I wonder if a strategy like the one Petra Marklund AKA September followed would work for her. Releasing dance music under one name and the less pop sounding under the other.

  11. Including all of her featured work, its amazing how much music she gave us in 2020.

  12. The album is gorgeous. She has really spoiled us.

I like the album but nothing about the songs surprises in any way. It's very flat and all songs have a generic - although nice - post-chorus instrumental. All the songs were written in 3 weeks by the same people and you can totally tell. So yeah it's good but needed 1 or 2 surprising moments.

Flashbacks and Sunset Dinner are my favorites.

  14. This is a great album and all the more impressive it started as a project for an EP, plus only done in there weeks - Queen! She really has kept us fed in 2020, with all the tracks released before this, she's effectively provided two albums worth of material!

This album hasn’t really left much of an impression on me to be honest. I’m not expecting Inna of all people to reinvent the wheel, but all of her albums since her debut have brought something new to the table, and while YO wasn’t really for me, I still appreciate that she totally flipped the board over and tried something entirely new. Heartbreaker just feels like a regression compared to YO and Nirvana.

  16. Didn't even realise she had a new album coming out so very pleasantly surprised, and it bops! One Reason is the one.

My favorite song from the album!

It wouldn't have hurt them to hire a male costar to add some tension to the video.
