Is this the most objectifying and offensive music video?

It's kinda starting to become the norm where music videos are concerned (at least the East European ones), but when I saw this one on my TV I was quite stunned. I assume it's played a lot, as well.

The UK video for Khia's My Neck, My Back was pretty awful too. Just a bunch of girls in bikinis washing a car.

 

The only thing wrong with that is the shit song haha. I never see music videos like this though?I wouldn't say its becoming the standard. In fact more like the opposite. There used to be waaay more like this. Like Destination Calabria and Call On Me.

I guess my biggest problem with it is the casual lesbianism, given that the video was made in one of the most homophobic countries in Europe. And I really do see a lot of these here, but this one in particular is the most extreme of the bunch. Almost porn.

 

I was particularly horrified by the video for "Back 2 Life" by E-Type. I know people have parochial schoolgirl fantasies and all, but this is beyond absurd.

 

Satisfaction is a brilliant video.

 

I seem to remember the one hit wonder 'Babycakes' by Three Of A Kind being pretty pornographic...

For a while, all dance orientated music videos were like this.

 

When and why did they stop being like this? I gave up on the Music TV channels a few years ago primarily because of lame, cliched FHM/Nuts soft-porn videos such as those already mentioned.

They're neither one thing nor the other; they're too pornographic and sexualised to be mainstream music videos, and too pathetic to be genuine soft-porn. They just pander to the same old nonsense in the dullest, crassest way via a medium which is supposed to be for the general public's consumption. Which is really why they're offensive, rather than the content itself.

 

I'm pretty sure the worst one has to be Pon De Floor by Major Lazer.
