Invitation is great and so different. A really interesting and unique opening for the album. With that said - top 60 is too high for it.

Ok fine but let's leave Glory alone for a good while now. Everything left from Glory deserves at least top 40, with a few being top 20 imo.
So... this aged well. ddddd

I- ...... give up. Invitation is such a gorgeous, sexy vibe. It deserved better. I wish some of y'all hadn't received an invitation to this rate. I hope Me Against The Music our collective bad taste is the next elimination.

We inch ever closer to that top 50...

Wait, did the power just go out?

57th Place
Hot as Ice
(from Blackout)

Average: 8.102

High Scorers: 10 x 12 (@Christopher, @GimmeWork, @Lucas, @eatyourself, @soratami, @Burzum, @Modeblock, @KingBruno, @Filler, @Milotic, @Atletico, @Music Is Death)
Low Scorer: 1 x 1 (@Trouble in Paradise)
My Score: 8.5

Hot as Ice is track 9 on Britney's fifth album Blackout. It was written by Faheem Najm (T-Pain), Floyd Hills (Danja) and Marcella Araica. It was produced by Danja and Jim Beanz. The song was originally entitled Cold as Fire. When an early demo of the song was leaked, the title was changed to try and stop the spread of unreleased material. T-Pain, one of the writers on the song, hinted during an interview at the track being the lead single from the album however this turned out not to be the case.

My thoughts: What a bop! If I were rating this now I'd definitely up my score as it has grown on me more and more since the rate started. The vocals are a bit much at times but I still think it's a really fun song and I like the call and response in the chorus.

@JMRGBY (9) This should definitely have retained it’s demo title of Cold As Fire. I actually prefer Hot as Ice for the title. Fire can't be cold but ice can feel hot, like freezer burn innit?

@boombazookajoe (8) I love the backing vocals on the chorus. They are so weird but I'm so into them. The lyrics to this are particularly dumb though.

@blaze_dave (8.5) Love the carefree and random Britney track thar this is. A sunny weather strut type of song.

@Kaz D'Oerba (9.4) This was one of my go-tos at one point, but I don’t seek it out much these days. Still fantastic, though. I'm the opposite, I seek it out more as time goes by.

@maikos87 (9) I prefer the demo but I still bop

@eatyourself (10) My second choice for an 11. It wouldn't have placed it any higher unfortunately.

@M24 (6.5) I have a pet peeve for chanted choruses. So I'm giving it the same score as Do You Wanna Come Over: I enjoy them both, but I wish Britney had the whole chorus for herself.

@cdd216 (6.5) The original "What You Need" - I just find her vocal on this otherwise totally solid song unbearably grating. Not as grating as the demo.

@Attis (2) Felt out of place in Blackout tbh

@Guyhawke! (9.5) ‘Hot As Ice’ drips with Personalitney in every single vocal inflection. It’s heartening to hear Britney refer to herself as a ‘living legend’ in the lyrics, a rare moment of owning her power. Even though I know objectively this isn’t her best song, she sells it so hard. I smile every time I think of how she went on the ‘Circus’ tour… and promoted ‘Blackout’ album tracks instead. The taste. Living legend. Did she lie though?

@Milotic (10) I just love everything about it. Her delivery, the lyrics, the funky beat.. it's great.

@BreatheBox (8.9) after 8 crazy 10s we have the first real ‘album track’ (yes heaven on earth IS single material)

@stereosalt (8) Britney’s vocals are very underrated on this track. I’m getting a little Gospelney! She's reaching your honour.gif

This is leaving way too early! If you can't appreciate the camp, the sass, the beats, the over-the-top chorus call backs..... the sheer queerness of it all!!! It sounds gayer than Over to You Know and that's about anal. C'mon!

Low Scorer: 1 x 1 (@Trouble in Paradise)
@Trouble in Paradise You're better than this! This is NOT living legend behavior and I neither want to look or touch! smh

Oh man! I feel like my Britney opinions are gonna tarnish my reputation but I firmly believe she’s an incredible pop star with some terrible album tracks!

This one moved around the leaderboard quite a bit...

It's alright to say you want it this elimination...

Up N' Down
(from Femme Fatale)

Up N' Down is a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Britney's seventh album, Femme Fatale. It was written by Shellback, Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, and produced by Max Martin, Shellback and Oligee.

My thoughts: This definitely suffers from being super noisy along with most of this album but there are certain super catchy elements that keep it from being a complete disaster. The lyrics are crap but there is definitely something about the song that makes me mildly bop.
@boombazookajoe (10) Sorry, ladies. Another perfect song from Femme Fatale. Shouldn't have been relegated to a Deluxe track. The beat just dropped and the room got sexy, I know that's right.

@blaze_dave (8.5) Love the production on this song.

@Kaz D'Oerba (7) A serviceable bop. Perfect commentary teebs.

@Ugly Beauty (10) COME OOOOON THIS BASIC BOP! how was this only a bonus track?

@livefrommelbs (10) 'The beat just dropped and the room got sexy' is a LINE. A MOMENT.

@daninternational (9.5) simplistic, but completely committed to itself

@M24 (5.5) The biggest bop for me of the bonus tracks in FF… that middle-8 is so captivating and sexy.

@WhenTheSunGoesDown (10) “I know you want me like kids want candy.” Iconic. Transcendent. Why wasn't this nominated for an Ivor Novello award?

@Guyhawke! (10) The bonus track so good that Britney threw it into the ‘Femme Fatale’ setlist as the second song – locals be damned! ‘Up ‘n Down’ is a perfect 10, with Britney riding a 90s club rhythm tailor-made for strutting. ‘The beat just dropped and the room got sexy’ is a superb pop lyric.

@Milotic (10) The way I can't stop my ass from going... down and up and down and up and down and up and down when I listen to this.
