Trip to Your Heart is track 10, and objectively the best song from Britney's seventh album Femme Fatale. It was written by Christian Karlsson, Henrik Jonback, Magnus Lidehäll, Pontus Winnberg, Nicole Morier and Sophie Stern. It was produced by Bloodshy, Henrik Jonback, Magnus Lidehäll and Emily Wright.

My thoughts: So let me take you on a little journey... I won't go too much into detail but my boyfriend and I met almost 18 months ago and were hooking up sporadically when we were in the same city (or when we traveled to the other's city specifically to see each other ddd). Despite us both being in open relationships at the time we met we discovered very quickly that we had great chemistry with each other. I knew I was falling for him relatively quickly and suspecting he felt the same but we both kept our feelings hidden for months. At some point between getting the rate opening date and voting officially opening I was on a bus home at around 3am on a Saturday night with my music on shuffle. Trip To Your Heart starts playing and the line "break these chains that keep us apart" hit me like a bolt of lightning. That was when I truly knew I was head over heels for @FabbyWabby and despite the chains that were keeping us apart, we had to be together. Long story short the next time I saw him while he was waffling about something I cut across him and literally said "I'm in love with you". Needless to say there was parity and we're happier than either of us has ever been, and that's why despite Born To Make You Happy being my favourite Britney song for more than 20 years, this song had to be my 11 because it changed my life. Sorry for rambling!
@Womanizer (10) The only warm moment on the album

@boombazookajoe (9.5) Slightly breaking up the 10 streak on this album by being a 9.5. Poor It still being that much of a bop but being on the lower end of this album. I want to dance like Scarlett Johansson in Marraige Story when I listen to this song. You've inverted your scores!

@blaze_dave (10) This is definitely a sister/sequel track to Heaven On Earth, except her vocals sound so melancholy and making this track sad over a dance beat, very Robyn. That whole one line section (trip to you...) towards the end is so good.

@Kaz D'Oerba (8.5) I’ve always really liked this. It’s so beautiful.

@Ana Raquel (10) This is basically a lighter version of Heaven on Earth so of course I'll support it. I don't really like Heaven on Earth much ddd.

@cdd216 (9.75) I love me some Ethereal-ney and this song is truly gorgeous - I wish the production was just slightly more restrained in places, as it occasionally has the tendency to clash with the vibe of the song.

@daninternational (7.3) Hyperpop or just bad production? Or just a bad opinion?

@M24 (9) My favorite from the album. I'm not sure if it would've been well received as a single, but it's just so magical! That chorus makes me feel so many things. Yessss!

@An Insider (10) Femme Fatale really should've had more songs like this to switch things up.

@Attis (10) Talented, brilliant, amazing, showstopping,etc Correct.

@Guyhawke! (8.5) There’s something slightly reductive about ‘Trip To Your Heart’. It sounds a hybrid of ‘Unusual You’ and ‘Heaven On Earth’ and other than the trancey atmosphere of the chorus doesn’t offer much that those two songs doesn’t already do. The chimes in the chorus support the imagery of angels (‘spread my wings out into the dark, I’ll fly away…’) which we know Britney would have been very into. It’s an engaging addition to the Etherealney canon.

@Milotic (8) Is it weird that the production hurts my ears sometimes? I feel like I always have to turn this song down compared to the others ddd. Yes it is weird, turn it up louder and enjoy!

@BreatheBox (10) Heaven on earth part 2 and cutest track ever

@Runawaywithme (10) a discography highlight. The taste!

“Trip To Your Heart” always seems to get overlooked but I’m so glad it made the top 40. Such an earnest and gorgeous little ditty. The vocal effects that plague Femme Fatale work so beautifully here.

I just lost my 11 so time for me to catch a break, right?

Man on the Moon
(from Glory)

Low Scorer: 4.5 x 1 (@DJHazey)
My Score: 10

Man on the Moon is track 5 on Britney's ninth album, Glory. It was written by Jason Evigan, Ilsey Juber, Phoebe Ryan, Sterling Fox and Marcus Lomax. It was produced by Evigan with additional vocal production by Dan Book and Pat Thrall.

My thoughts: I love this song, it's definitely my favourite on this album, and one of my absolute favourite Britney songs. It's wistful and longing and just simply gorgeous. The vocals are stunning and I just really enjoy the whole vibe of the song.

And when she breaks into the weird counting during the middle 8? upload_2022-1-10_11-19-36.png
@clowezra (8) Adore this weird little song.

@JMRGBY (10) Such a gorgeous song. I can imagine how this would be staged - if it ever was to cross anyone’s mind to put it on a setlist of course, which is unlikely. I see it too!

@boombazookajoe (9.5) This song just makes me so happy. I remember running a lot to this song when this album came out and I just felt so free.

@blaze_dave (10) Ooh a ballad and her vocals are so emotive with those sad lyrics, she does it so well. That bridge and chorus. Those ad libs, the random French and that non sensical countdown. Someone said it is a lost Disney type song and see what they mean. Yeah I kind of hear that.

@Kaz D'Oerba (10) I think this is one of the most beautifully haunting things she’s ever done. The vocal performance, the instrumentation, all of it. Fantastic.

@livefrommelbs (10) Definitely an album highlight for me. There's a lovely sense of whimsy and longing here that feels so inherent to Britney at her must open and vulnerable.

@chrisjche (10) My absolute favorite from this album - the lyrics are beautiful and her head voice sounds amazing. Yes yes yes!

@cdd216 (9.5) Exquisite. Docking the score slightly for the bizarre non-French bridge, but this is an album highlight.

@daninternational (5) Sticks out in a bad way on this great album

@AstronautMikeDexter (10) It’s so good! Beautiful vocals, lyrics, and melody. It’s just so sublime and it hits me right in the heart.

@M24 (8) That pre-chorus is everything to me. The chorus is pretty good too, overall on my top half of Glory. I hope Britney's french pronunciation in the bridge won't invite low scores. Too late, it did.

@WhenTheSunGoesDown (8.7) There is NOTHING funnier than Britney counting down in “””French”””. Extremely iconic.

@An Insider (10) One of the best pop songs in her discography. That bridge is incredible.

@Attis (10) A true return to form

@Guyhawke! (9) Whilst ‘Man On The Moon’ sounds nothing like ‘Lucky’, it is a similarly syrupy piece of storytelling. Where the sadness of ‘Lucky’ was covered up by the sprightly production, ‘Man On The Moon’ leans into the emotion. The marimba brings a gentle fairytale whimsy to the proceedings as a vocodered Britney sets the scene. By the chorus she is in full character mode and savouring each moment of drama, like the wonderful way the word ‘alive’ leads into the following line. The spoken word interlude in bastardised French is truly bonkers, and so very Britney. As the strings and crashing drums swell to their overwrought climax, you wonder how a set of five writers who had never worked with her created a song that so captivatingly articulates Britney’s personality. It really is very her isn't it?

@Milotic (9.25) This came out of nowhere and scalped me during my listens! Gorgeous song.

@Runawaywithme (10) There is something so haunting and strange about this song. It's so manic and bubblegum but there is a very real, heavy, sinister darkness to it. It lives in that beautiful space between complete euphoria and complete despair where some of the best Britney (and pop altogether) songs lie. She also sounds absolutely stunning throughout the entire thing. It's so delightfully weird. It's also definitely helped me get through many a hard night, dreaming of my very own man on the moon. Sadpop is arguably the best pop tbh.

@Verandi (9) Easily the best song from the album. Not perfect but it gets close.

@lilylu (10) Artsy fartsy, Britney making up a language, pretty, punny, floaty, cute.

Not sure how ‘Do You Wanna Come Over?’ is doing so well… it’s fine but it’s not classic Britney to me.
I actually think Do You Wanna Come Over is quintessential Britney - It's just a big, rock-solid pop song, like one of the Oops highlights updated for 2016.

Change Your Mind on the other hand... a bop (that I admittedly gave a high score to), but it can go now.

he/him
I'm sorry, but I've never liked "Man on the Moon" ever, since day one and I've always tried to make that clear so it's not a shock. Listening to that chorus has the same effect on me that Shakira's "Empire" has on a lot of people.

Since musically it has some strong moments, that's the 4.5 though, so at least I scored it honestly.

Empire, what a bop!

Do You Wanna Come Over is the most Britney song on the album. It is such a rush.

Man On The Moon is quite nice. Top 35 it is not seeing what left already.
