I like both the eliminated songs, which is an indication of the strength of Britney's catalogue; we are only just inside the Top 150 and already I'm thinking 'these songs are absolutely fine'.

I'm going to need 'SMS (Bangerz)' to disappear now. Britney contributes an ordinary 'rap' to a song that doesn't even have the distinction of being A Total Bop like 'S&M' does. Seeing the likes of 'Private Show' and 'I Will Still Love You' evicted before a 30-second guest vocal performance on a song recorded during the 'Barely Jean' era stings a little.

I Will Still Love You is cute and harmless. As others here said, Private Show would have been a lot better with better vocals. she sounds like she's trying hard to be sexy while having a cold.

The vocals on ‘Private Show’ are questionable, but the post-chorus is so fun. I bumped it up a couple of points for that.

I had poor memories of ‘I Will Still Love You’ and hadn’t listened to it in years, but was pleasantly surprised revisiting it - a classic 90s ballad. “And when the stars are falling…” got stuck in my head frequently after doing my initial scores and I revised it up every time nn.

I genuinely like “Private Show”! I re-add it to my shower playlist every once in awhile because it’s so fun to sing along to without having to worry about sounding horrific haha I think it’s fun and, while it’s definitely not Britney’s best, I’m glad we have it. The rando demon voice at the end can exit stage left though…

Both I Will Still Love You and Private Show are the worst songs on their respective albums, so good riddance. My only negative score left now is My Only Wish (This Year).

Today's first elimination is sponsored by 2 letters...

My Score: 9.5

SMS (Bangerz) is a song that appears as track 3 on Miley Cyrus' album 'Bangerz' released in September 2013. Britney features as a guest vocalist on the second verse of the song, which was written by Miley along with Sean Garrett, Marquel "Marz" Middlebrooks and Michael "Mike Will Made-It" Williams, being produced by the latter 2. It is widely regarded to have used a sample of "Push It" by Salt-N-Pepa but the writers of that song don't appear in the credited writers for the song.

My thoughts: I struggled with how to score this song for a long time. In the realms of Britney's discography this wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list of faves HOWEVER I can't deny that I really like the song, it is in fact a banger and makes me want to strut my stuff. I love Britney's delivery of her voice, she sounds really cool on it. I'm honestly surprised this didn't receive a single release and video treatment, it could've been a bit of a moment.
@BreatheBox (8) yassss

@WhenTheSunGoesDown (2) A racket

@boombazookajoe (10) I can't really see this doing that well in this rate so I feel no shame giving this absolute BANGER(z) a 10. It's a monster. Isn't it though???

@blaze_dave (8) I like the sample of Salt n Peppa used, really works well on this fun track. Both sound good on, even if Britney only has a verse and would have liked more.

@Rantaro (3) Not even Britney can save this absolute trainwreck.

@unnameable (3.5) utterly dull until Britney appears

@daninternational (6) She sounds good, but Britney is above this

@AstronautMikeDexter (7) The song is fine, nothing special, but Britney’s portion is great.

@M24 (0) This was an ok song for the Miley rate, and even if I bop to it, Britney has better material. Her verse is the best part of the song though.

@BeingNormal (3) A SNL parody song

@Guyhawke! (2) Eh. Britney’s contribution is a kind gesture knowing what a huge stan Miley is, but what a waste to put her on such an anaemic song. The energy Miley gave dancing in the audience of Britney’s Vegas show is what we needed here.

@Milotic (8) I apparently know all the words? Ddd. Me too!

@lilylu (3) Miley was trying to run away from her Disney past but she ended up coming off more immature. This song is trying too hard. Britney's verse is the best part, but the song just sucks.

@RMK (8.5) No one knows what her lyrics actually mean, but it’s fine.

Okay but SMS slaps. Britney's verse is the definition of camp and Miley's ad-libs over the second half are such a great touch.

I'm flying high up on the bird; acrophobiac
I slick, caught her eyeing down my purse
Where the dollars at?
I let her know the rent's due on the first
They can call the hearse
'Cause if there's any violation, I go off with that
Catwalk, slick talk, flirting with a big dog
Why I need his millis when I got Billy on my speed dial?
You know I'm on that meow, quick to scratch your eyes out
Strutting on the court, make them nervous, call a timeout
