Haha, I knew it’s a dangerous thing to admit, but what can I say, I always found Soda Pop really cute and fun. From The Bottom of My Briken Heart is kinda… boring? And Sometimes is nice, I warmed up to it a lot in recent years, but mostly because of its nostalgic value. I have Britney my corner though, she flat out said she hated Sometimes!

I was obsessed with this video when it was first out there.

I'm still obsessed.

Y’all are a bit too harsh on Soda Pop ddd. It’s gone, but the covers on her first three albums (barring You Got It All) are still here? Mess.
Maybe because The Beat Goes On is actually as amazing as it is an oddity on the album? And Satisfaction is a cute one, while I Love Rock’n’Roll may be a bit of an outlier but is still quite fun and the last chorus smashes with the adlibs and all. Go watch Crossroads!

Looks like a double debut cut...

I wonder what y'all will think about this one...

Thinking About You

High Scorers: 10 x 2 (@Satyress, @BreatheBox)
Low Scorer: 2 x 1 (@Hurricane Drunk)
My Score: 6

Thinking About You appears as track 10 on the debut album ...Baby One More Time. Produced by Eric Foster White who co-wrote the song with Mikey Bassie (these poor men cannot catch a break here ddd).

My thoughts: Relistening to this I'm surprised I gave this a 6. It's an inoffensive very obvious album track that works in the context of the album but alone is just... there.
@boombazookajoe (5) It's hard to really judge these early B-Sides against the singles. Pre streaming, literally NO one would hear these songs unless they bought the album, so in the grand scheme of things, they weren't "important." Unless you were going to your local FYE or Borders and scanning the CD to listen to previews before purchase, you were going in to any album purchase blind. I honestly think streaming has really helped, at least where the pop acts are concerned, in caring more about quality control across the whole album, and are all the better for it. Anyway, this song is useless, though I don't actively hate it. That's a lot of emotion for safe...

@blaze_dave (7.5) I love this song's change of pace and structure between the verses and chorus, so stands out.

@Rantaro (5.75) It’s perfectly fine. I wish the pink bubblegum mix was the main mix, however. That slaps and is an 8/10.

@maikos87 (6) I prefer the Pink Bubblegum remix to the original Video posted below seeing as a few of you have mentioned it.

@unnameable (8) bounces along nicely

@livefrommelbs (4) I genuinely forget this song exists. Kinda suspect it'll be out early on as we cull some of the filler/Myah tracks.

@daninternational (4) I don't remember this though I hammered the album at the time, and I understand why

@AstronautMikeDexter (4) I honestly hate this song. It was the only song from her debut I couldn’t stomach and I still can’t. A 4 is generous for a song you hate!

@M24 (5.5) Second best album track after Autumn Goodbye. A cute bop.

@Guyhawke! (6.5) Britney works so hard with her vocals here, but ‘Thinkin’ About You’ would have been more at home on Mandy Moore’s debut.

@Milotic (5) Honestly it's kind of annoying.

@BreatheBox (10) this song is by Britney Houston, this is probably how she would’ve liked to sound, she sounds so natural here Erm... kii.

@Music Is Death (6.5) So I’ve never been a big fan of this song. It’s nice and it bops, and I like the funky vibe, especially in the verses, but the chorus has never really worked for me. I don’t know, it’s just not a song I particularly enjoy or seek out. It doesn’t do anything for me and I feel like Autumn Goodbye or Deep In My Heart could have replaced it.

I gave Thinkin’ About You a 6 as well. It’s not bad, just a bit lifeless. I think it would’ve been a better single than From the Bottom of My Broken Heart though.
