It's Gonna Be a Hot Rate : Monrose Discography Rate (Winner revealed!)

I think Pussycat Dolls already is in the queue. I think @GhettoPrincess is thinking about doing the Fifth Harmony rate, but if she ends up going in another direction, I'd love to see you host that someday @Vixen.
I like me some 'Fifth Harmony' like every girlgroup stan, but I do feel like @GhettoPrincess genuinely likes them better than I do, and I think to make a very successful rate, you must be really invested in the group. (I would definitely participate, though, sis.)

I know the Pussycat Dolls rate is taken already, but you never know. Someone doesn't have time and/or gotta stand down, etc.

I think @RainOnFire ideally wants to wait for them to either release more music or split. If they do a re-release then maybe we'll get it sooner but we shall see.

I honestly just want to write a shit-ton of Queen Camila stanning commentary. We'll have our own section in the write-ups if you don't host it. *tongue out emoji*

So proud of Say Yes, the little extra that could. Hot Summer is predictable but worthy as a winner.

Such a brilliant rate to follow @Vixen, you've done an amazing job. It really reminded me how much I love these girls.

YESSSSSS. Say Yes broke 9! I first heard of Monrose during my first semester of college, when I think Ali's Blog (or one of those blogspot sharing blogs) posted Hot Summer/the album. I was in love from there on out, especially since they were a Popstars band like Eden's Crush, Scene 23, and Girls Aloud. Not to mention the album was pure class, and really did remind of Loose, which I'd loved that year and the one before. 'Say Yes' was a bonus on my download, and I never looked back! It's literally too great to be a bonus track, so good to see justice here.

And also:

I'm not done, but when I realized 'Say Yes' could be found physically on the 'What You Don't Know' maxi, I knew I needed to collect their music, especially the b-sides. Missing them terribly, and hope they get together for even just a gig or two, someday in the future.

Yeeeeeee!

Not me guessing the top 3 order right and everybody else getting it wrong! What do I win?

@Vixen, thanks so much for this! I feel like I've gone from having a bunch of Monrose albums on my iPod that I randomly got my life to from time to time, to, well, actually knowing who they were and what they did and everything they brought to the pop world. That's how you know it's been an amazing rate!

And of course, I couldn't be happier with the winner!

P.S. @DJHazey, I think it's my second 11 to come out on top, but as a long-time supporter of flop 11s I'll take all the congratulations I can get! Love it.

What a surprise that Say Yes made #2! Very cool.

The adlibs at the end of Hot Summer are better than most popstars' careers.

This was such an amazing rate. As I've said before, I've gone into this rate only knowing Strictly Physical but ending up loving a whole bunch of other songs. I'm totally going to try getting my hands on all their albums now if I can.

I had some hope that "Say Yes" would dethrone Summer at some point, but that was delusion on my part. Still, so glad it got this far with such a good rating. Thank you Vixen for this rate and reminding me of a girlgroup I used to love and haven't even thought about in the past six years.

Though they had only been together four four years. Four albums, eleven singles, seven Top 10's and two #1's is nothing to snicker at and I doubt there'll ever be another girlgroup in Germany able to pull this off again as the mainstream music landscape and way to consume music here has completely shifted and there is absolutely no room anymore for such a homegrown band.

Thanks for Vixen for the hard work & big effort to make this amazing and fun. I loved everything about it and was so nice to actually share great Monrose moments with all of you. I was totally over them these past years because Mandy blocked me on insta and all of their drama nowadays put me off but because of the rate I re-discovered a lot of bops and watched a lot of interviews to remind myself why they are still one of the best girlbands.

Their friendship was genuinely real and they really did care & always had a lot of respect for each other. There were not once made shady comments, not towards band members or even the label.

Let's not forget that Mandy was still a minor during Strictly Physical and Bahar was only 18/19 so I think Senna plays a big role in it why the band was that successful. There's a really nasty interview where the host calls them Ghetto Bitches and flops and Senna just was not having it at all and just stood up and left the room and the other 2 following her. The other 2 were too young /shy to stood up for themselves or the band so Senna being confident and outspoken really did wonders for the band.

Hot Summer at No.1 is the obvious winner and it really is their signature song so I'm totally happy with the Top 3. I'd have never guessed Strictly Physical the song being so high, everything about it is just contagious but I always thought the other album tracks were much better received. Leading Me On not being in the Top 10 is the only dud for me, it is too good to not be around the best Monrose tracks.

I'm so glad Say Yes did so well! On a side note I have no idea how I ended up giving "Hot Summer" a 5! I spent most of this rate thinking I gave it a 7.5 (and regretting that) only to check my scores a few days ago and see to my horror I somehow have it a 5!

You were already forgiven cause you named yourself after one of the best song of all time. ALL TIME.

@If You Go : I thought the "5" was tactical scoring. Either way, it didn't change much, so don't worry!

Fun fact, had you actually given it a 8, it would have had a 9,891 average and it you had given it a 10, a 9,978 average...Like that must be one of the highest average for a #1, no? (Granted, there was only a bit more than 20 participants, but still.)

I didnot participate but I recall the winner from the first (out of three) Kylie rate had a 10+ average. Still amazing score obviously!
