JADE - "FUFN" + Debut Album

Is this the ideal turnaround? No. But good lord is this thread fucking boring, talk about Groundhog Day.

You wouldn’t think we’d had five songs, all with accompanying visuals and a major award show performance in seven months.

Imagine being a Jesy stan? I mean I can’t imagine that but still…we’ve hardly been starved

Or PERRIE x

I tried my hardest to get into FUFN, I really did girls. It just isn't clicking with me at all. For me it's the weakest song she's dropped of the bunch. It sounds like a Little Mix album track they would have buried towards the end of the album or something. I'm happy for everyone who enjoys it and gets a lot out of it, but I guess I'm on another journey.

Yeah... FUFN and It Girl are my easy least favorites so far, which combined with the... lack of news on the album front has got me a bit "hmmm". I don't want to be pessimistic, Fantasy was close to, if not my favorite song of 2024. I'll be patiently waiting to hammer the album whenever it comes, it just feels like it's almost been left too long now to maximize any benefit from it (a "just chuck it out for the fans and move onto album #2" situation). I remember back when Fantasy was released and people were implying the album would be out by February. It's almost April and we don't even have a pre-order. It's just all a bit unfortunate.

(Then again, Sugababes just released their follow-up single to Flatline this month, so we've survived far worse...)

I think we all have to bear in mind the literal few people in the UK that wait for albums to be released.

25 albums have sold upwards of 50K units this year. Only 6 of them have been released in 2025.

How many people maximum are waiting with bated breath for a Jade album pre-order? So in which case they can put the album pre-order up whenever and by and large it’s not going to make much of a difference. They could (and I agree rightly should) have had the pre-order ready to go from the Brits, but realistically how many extra pre-order sales would it have generated and thus missing out on? I just think we need to get out of this 1999 mindset that we’re all rushing to get down to Woolworths (much as I miss those days).

Preorders are not that important but I think pre-saves really help with Spotify playlisting. At least, a lot of my favourite UK pop girlies always push for people to pre-save their albums as they say it helps them a lot!
