Yes, following Damita Jo - which I liked - with the same but worse 20YO was carreer suicide. SEXited was great but had the same video to All Nite and anyway Call On Me killed everything. Get It Off Me was the only other good song.

"All Nite" was SO good but the rest was her career nadir in my eyes. 20YO had at least two songs that I can say I like without saying "but..." at the end. "Enjoy" and "Days Go By". Plus, that silly song with Khia was alright, but nothing great.

Why is Janet Jackson getting so much shit in the US for showing her tit?

Apparently it''s back in court again today.

Fucking hell, if they think that is bad then they should come to the UK where our tabloids have topless women on near enough every page!

I can''t believe this is being dragged up again. I despair, I really do. What I don''t get is the hypocracy. Americans were all for complaining about Janet getting her tit out but it was at the Superbowl, and apparently, violent machismo masquerading as sport doesn''t affect children as much as a bit of boob. Get over it!

But that''s the US all over. This is the place where in the bible belt they take out all of the books from the schools and libraries that promote safe sex because they believe that their children will abstain.

I know. It''s baffling isn''t it? I just find it depressing that a country so advanced as the US features places that don''t even teach evolution. I just thank my lucky stars that I''m European, for many reasons.

The drinking law is another one. They honestly believe that people do not drink alcohol under the age of 21 and there is such a big deal about it. The thing is it only has the adverse effect, by making it such a big deal it only makes people want it more and therefore they either do it to excess or do it secretly which is more dangerous than if the age was lowered. Besides though every American I''ve spoken to defends this law, every single one of them drank alcohol regularly under the age of 21.

If any popstar in the UK got their bap out at a gig, most people would just cheer.

And she had the biggest piercing imaginable in her nip, you couldn''t even see anything! Madness.

I think a big part of it is that she''s a black female, which is a horrible thing to have to say. Justin Timberlake was clearly in on it but has left the entire thing behind after basically blaming her for it.

I think you are probably right.

The right wing Christians never give up on this type of thing...''protecting the children'' and all...whatever. But, I think part of it though is that, unlike JT who has a very public persona that people connect to, Janet''s never lit up as a personality. This leaves only her music, which quite frankly hasn''t been decent in years. If she would actually work with some good producers again and come out with some amazing new material, I think she would be back in popularity and everyone, save the Christian right, would forget about any tit incident.

Janet''s not in trouble - they (network etc) are just fighting now over the FCC fine. An ongoing battle. Many Americans think she lied afterward about the malfunction, but have gotten over it, I think. She''ll rise again if she gets over the sex stuff in her own work. She can still redeem herself... she''s like family to many Americans black and white too.

The FCC was run by an idiot at that time. Michael Powell, son of Colin Powell (daddy is respected here). Michael is long gone from the FCC. If Britney had taken her tit out on TV there would have been drama as well.

The US is, I think, an easy target on race issues. They exist everywhere, sometimes in different forms. The fact is that Barack Obama is a serious contender for president and Oprah is the veritable queen of America. It''s very disjointed here in that regard - there is daily racism in ridiculous ways (like black people not being able to get taxis easily- how insane!), but we have improved from the 60''s.
