There is a really good Jennifer Rush collection called Stronghold that has a great selection of her hits, misses and extended versions. You need to hear Heart Wars!
Such a fantastic voice. The sheer brilliance of 'The Power Of Love' is often overlooked, not least the extended version with soaring vocals. 'Ring Of Ice' and the whole 'Heart Over Mind' album should have been huge and her last album from a few years ago hinted at a return to form so I'm hoping we get a new album soon.

The recent(ish) Now Is The Hour is a pretty good album, the dance tracks are amazing. What a voice she has.

I just looked at the production and songwriting credits of Heart Over Mind - I think I need this album.
You do. And you need Stronghold. Just make sure to put a new sleeve on it.
I only know literally 3 of her songs ('Madonna's Eyes' being the 3rd, thanks to this thread), but I love this performance of 'Destiny' that was on a Dutch DVD compilation I bought. Check out the bass player really getting into it, ha ha.
Okay, so I gave in and ordered Stronghold. Though the sleeve shall remain hidden forever.
My copy of Stronglips arrived today. Can't wait to listen to it. I grew up with German TV and she was often around, but apart from 'Power of Love' (obviously), 'Wings of Desire' (which I love, but had forgotten about until I saw this thread) and her cover of 'Tears in the Rain', I didn't know any of her songs. Very excited to dive into the collection.
I started listening to the box set this morning and I am so glad you guys suggested it. I'm halfway through and I haven't skipped a single track so far. Those extended versions are marvellous.

I couldn't sleep last night and listened to the extended version of 'Wings of Desire' on repeat. If only someone did a similar collection for Laura Branigan.
Totally agree with this. I've said it before but Stronghold is one of the best box sets because its focus is clear - giving fans extended mixes and rarities. I think the Dead or Alive set could still have been satisfying if done in this fashion with the extended mixes and rarities spread out amongst three or four discs.
A Laura Branigan one would be heaven. Or Gloria Estefan.
