Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!

"I’m probably going to release my new record early next year. It’s more of a step towards Remember Where You Are but with a bit of energy. It’s pretty much written. I’m feeling so empowered. I feel like I’m just getting started."
”I had this whole idea that I wanted to make the next record fully like the last song on the new album, and then I thought, actually I've just got everyone up dancing and I want to stay there for a bit. I think the next record will be like this record, maybe a few BPM slower - when I think about playing it live I want as much material as possible that makes sense together.”
“The next record that I’m making, it’s not-... It’s a bit of a different sound... but maybe it’s not fully What’s Your Pleasure because I didn’t want to make a number 2.”
”I’ve actually written a lot of my new record, so I just want to keep giving you music... and not to go away for too long.”
I feel like it would be rude not to [keep doing dance music] because I feel like people like me on this. So the next record, I don't know whether you'd call it electronic dance music, but it's definitely upbeat and uptempo. It's not the same as "What's Your Pleasure?", but it's got energy. I'd say it's like 75% written but it's not produced. I'd like to bring it out before I do the festivals next year. I think (the plan is to) have the baby, get ready for tour and then finish the record.
“I don’t want [the next album] to be a 2.0 What’s Your Pleasure? [“Remember Where You Are” is] this calm, grounding moment… there’s a hint to maybe the next route of where things will go for the next record. It hopefully will feel, then, like the continuation onto the next record will make sense.

Has anyone listened to the latest episode of her Podcast with her sister Hannah, it’s fab and a lovely insight into their family dynamic which is savage in the best way.

Oh my god. I've been binging The One and I had no idea Hannah Ware was Jessie Ware's (big!) sister. Mind blown ddd.

As if we haven’t been fed enough today with Please, she’s working away on album 5 as we speak.

Some new stuff about album 5 from her recent press interview about the deluxe:
Q: Do you want to continue down this road of dance music?
Ware: I feel like it would be rude not to, because I feel like people like me on this. So the next record, I don't know whether you'd call it electronic dance music, but it's definitely upbeat and uptempo. It's not the same as "What's Your Pleasure?", but it's got energy.

Q: How far along are you on the new album? Could we hear it later this year?
Ware: I'd say it's like 75% written but it's not produced. I'd like to bring it out before I do the festivals next year. Equally, I want to be able to have this moment of being able to enjoy "What's Your Pleasure?" I'm not gonna be able to tour (that album) in the States until I don't know how long, so I don't want to distract from celebrating that in a live capacity by adding too much music. But the music's there, so I think (the plan is to) have the baby, get ready for tour and then finish the record.

From her Vulture interview:
After the book, deluxe, and baby, it’s onto the next album for Ware. She promises another musical shift on her What’s Your Pleasure?follow-up — another reason she wanted to release deluxe tracks now. “I don’t want [the next album] to be a 2.0 What’s Your Pleasure?,” she says. “I felt like we could extend the celebration, because hey, maybe they won’t like the next record!” (Doubtable.)

[“Remember Where You Are” is] this calm, grounding moment where there’s a togetherness, but in such a grandiose, choirs-of-togetherness [way]. Also, there’s a hint to maybe the next route of where things will go for the next record. [That song] felt like it was written within this world of What’s Your Pleasure? — even though it’s slowed down, it’s slightly more groove-led, and felt like it needed to be on there. It hopefully will feel, then, like the continuation onto the next record will make sense.
