Shungudzo cowrote half of What's Your Pleasure and this song of hers is a total stunner
Here's one I made earlier xx
Champagne Kisses would still be Top 3
Why do y'all always do "Kind Of...Sometimes...Maybe" so dirty?
Ms. Hole showing taste.
Apart from the fact she’s recreated the worst photo of the era (bar the Platinum cover)
Queen re-entered at number 7 on the UK album chart.
I think she also wrote for Jessie's fifth album
Me listening to Pale Blue Light on repeat
Damn, the quality control across this entire project is insane. 5 majorly hot n heavy n sweaty n grimy disco bops in a row....she knew the assignment.
Pale Blue Light is for the Tough Lovers, yup yup. Slow dance anthem. 0208 sounds like where she could have taken Devotion/Tough Love, so I hope if she returns to a more downtempo album it's in that vein.
The original tracklist is perfect as is, and I think mixing them all together kinda ruins the ~flow of both releases.
There's nothing wrong with the order at all, but I was actually playing around with an alternative track-list from the whole era and it came to something like this;
2 What's Your Pleasure
4 Ooh La La
6 Hot N Heavy
7 Soul Control
9 Eyes Closed
10 In Your Eyes
11 Save A Kiss
12 Adore You
13 The Kill
15 Step Into My Life
16 Read My Lips
17 Mirage (Don't Stop)
18 Pale Blue Light
19 Remember Where You Are
Glasshouse is shit but Midnight remains great.
Tonight’s thought: wishing 0208 was about 3 minutes longer
I loved Thinking About You from Glasshouse but I never knew the context of it until now. It makes so much sense to me now, and it did hit me hard because I remember having a conversation with my mom who told me her biggest regret was not spending more time with me as I grew up.
Two tickets to see Jessie in December sold, because of that article. Thanks for posting!
I just tried this out and I can confirm this tracklisting is holy.
"’Id listened to the fans who had a frickin’ hashtag going, #JusticeForOvertime, and I thought, Oh, bore off, I’ve just given you a whole new album, it’s bloody doing well, everyone loves it. And then I thought, Oh, I can put it on the deluxe. "
Drag us Queen.
In a surprise to nobody, that interview is ace. Jessie just gets it. Was going to reply sooner but I had to go and retreive my wig first after reading that she's planning on opening her live sets with Soul Control (!!!). Yes, beb! Can you imagine? Those shows are going to be relentless in the best possible way.
She dragged us and it felt like a kiss.
That Vulture piece is great. I had no idea "Wildest Moments" was about her best friend and "Thinking About You" was about her daughter. It's always so refreshing when we get interviews with artists where they get to specifically talk about their music.
