The sad thing is she actually looks fine with her own tone and without the exaggerated wigs. Like, she really fucked herself over for no true reason. And to side with the woman that's about to get obliterated in court? It's pure foolishness.
The Hot 100 tracks the top 100 consumed songs for the respective tracking week. The 'bubbling under' tracks those just outside the Hot 100. So #13 on that chart would be #113 on the Hot 100.
You're correct. A song can enter the Hot 100 from the Bubbling Under Chart, but you can't fall from the Hot 100 to the Bubbling Under chart. It's essentially just a "you tried" star.
It's not the #13 itself... It's the fact that she killed her credibility for a debut on the bubbling under!
Don't forget Nicki is on the track too. With her crazy fanbase she's usually good for a chart placement but this is just... karma.
What "credibility" did she have? She was one quarter of a group who have been - at best - moderately successful in the US (and less so with each album era). There was no one over there at the edge of their seat waiting for her to launch a solo career. And anyone from the UK who's broken that market has done so by offering the US something they don't have already. Not by reheating stuff by American acts from 20 years ago. Even if the song was good she'd have had a mountain to climb.
She has an established name with a rabid fanbase attached to the song, it's a bit naive of anyone that thinks Nicki wasn't put on there specifically for that reason and it didn't even help.
Also, songs that have been on the Hot 100 for more than 20 weeks are deleted from the chart if they fall below #50, and songs that have been on the chart for more than 52 weeks are deleted if they are going down the chart and fall below #25. (The deleted songs are then eligible to chart on the Hot 100 Recurrents chart.)
Basically it’s a tactic to increase song turnover and prevent the same songs from clogging up the chart forever and blocking new songs from entering the chart.
