she/they
It’s jarring to see a bunch of users with no avi post back-to-back. I almost thought Jesy had a burner account on here or something.
To the GP, Little Mix had very much been “The trio plus Jesy” for quite some time. My husband is a very casual Little Mix listener and I remember him commenting a few years ago how Jesy just seemed like she was…there.
People loving Jesy and people noticing she wasn’t as close as the other three are not mutually exclusive.I would have to disagree with this. As much as I dislike Jesy for what's gone on this year, I wouldn't discredit her status in Little Mix pre 2021. There was a huge outpouring of love for Jesy, especially after her documentary. Just a shame she's gone down this route.

I mean, you could say that the friendship narrative has been tarnished a bit, but that's different from legacy.
I feel a little uncomfortable basing assumptions on the group's inner working or looking for retroactive "the signs were always there!!" via youtube compilations and ~shady moments~ stan videos.
These girls were together all day long for the best part of a decade doing endless bits of exhausting video interviews, quizzes about their favourite colour with fucking idiotic radio hosts, touring, recording, doing photoshoots, etc etc. Like any job, people are going to have days where they're completely over it, and for Jesy with everything she's gone through in terms of her mental health journey that's certainly going to be more pronounced when it comes to combing through archive footage.
For the vast majority of their career they were clearly really close and got on, because it wouldn't have lasted as long as it did otherwise and there's no way they would have survived all the touring and promo. The wheels came off towards the end obviously and Jesy's now doing.. this nonsense, but it doesn't mean the relationship was secretly sour for the bulk of their time together.
Erm, they're right though?
I mean, their output might not be tarnished, and their impact might not be tarnished. But they're a group that has been a beacon of friendship and female empowerment for the last ten years, so it doesn't exactly help their brand? No members falling out over a jacket, nobody climbing out of a toilet window to escape, no 'get well soon Geri's' - for a long time LM have been held up as an example of how girlband's should work, and from an industry perspective, so much of the goodwill they've worked hard to earn over the last ten years is built on that.
Does it all reflect most badly on Jesy? Of course. But she was a vital member of this band for nine out of the ten years the band has been together, and so such a big, public fallout - regardless of who is at fault - might not tarnish their overall impact, but of course it tarnishes their messaging, and their 'M.O' that they've meticulously built over ten years. I'd hazard a guess that this is precisely why the band aren't engaging in the 'feud' and it's currently quite one sided - they realise that regardless of rights or wrongs, public fallouts don't help a brand that's been built largely on the notion of female friendship. Especially when you consider that the vast majority of public won't be picking up nuance on a forum, but getting this information from the sidebar of shame, or The Sun or Heat Magazine or whatever.
My workplace plays BBC radio in our lifts and I got stuck in there today while they played Boyz. Trauma.
I'm so sorry, remember that there's no shame in looking for help after a traumatic experience xoxoMy workplace plays BBC radio in our lifts and I got stuck in there today while they played Boyz. Trauma.
