I just initially found it weird, because it initially sounded like 30 is some ancient age rather than one year out of a person’s twenties. Glad you cleared that up for me, though.

Maybe not exactly 30, but around that age is when I observed most pop females get their last lap on radio. As for debuts, I can’t think of any big debut by someone who wasn’t in their 20s at least in the last two decades, aside from the mentioned Gwen, JLo and Fergie, who weren’t already globally popular*.
That’s not to say she shouldn’t bother going solo for her art or her livelihood, I’m just not sure if she’ll be a huge world-conquering smash, but then again, maybe those aren’t their goals/expectations, anyway.
*I’m actually not sure if all three were already super popular outside the United States. I assume Jesy is looking at the UK as her main market, who already know her so her being a big UK solo star is probably still very realistic.
