Jordin Sparks

I like her new Tinashe-esque sound. Or maybe I'm just happy she's back (well, by the look of things). Who would've thought it'd take her a serious love drama to get back to the studio (well, I guess a lot of people did...).

Initially I was a bit thrown by "ratchet" Jordin but after listening to that mixtape I'm getting used to it plus only song I'm not liking (They Don't Give).

Is Jordin still a woman?

I feel like I need to listen to the song again to remind me.

I am
Woman
I am
Woman
I'm a woman
I'm a woman
Yes I am

And now I can clarify the matter of biological sex once more. Thanks Jordin.

You know what? It's been a while. Let's admire and celebrate this masterpiece once again:

Her career is in the actual dumpster. She should start calling Celebrity Apprentice and similarly D-List shows. I don't even think Dancing With The Stars would have her.

Double Tap is the first official single from her upcoming album. The song also features 2 Chainz and the video was shot not too long ago.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that a fresh new thread regarding this album (and the Bye Felicia mixtape) should be created? I Am Woman and it's parent album didn't materialise and Jordin's already moved on so this thread would become messy seeing as the new album stuff and the old unmaterialised album stuff would all be mixed up.
I will happily create a new thread for this if that's okay with the moderators.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's been my impression that there isn't a shelved RCA album and that Right Here, Right Now is an evolution of what she would've released under RCA at some point since I Am Woman. Keep in mind that she's still under the Sony umbrella and she's still with 19 Recordings. It would seem that 19 still owns the copyright to the recorded music.

It's not like an ARTPOP situation where discussion had reached a fever pitch before there was even a release date confirmed. It's Jordin Sparks. If anything, we just need the thread's title changed.

Oh okay, I guess we could continue using this thread then and get the mods to change the title.

It won't come out, so no worries.

Says who? The album is scheduled to come out in April.

I remember reading in summer 2013 an interview with Harmony Samuels where he said he was producing a lot of Jordin's third album and that the sound of it would be a cross between Mariah and JLo, I was excited because he had just done a lot of Ariana's debut album which is obviously amazing. But there's no sign of any of these songs making the new incarnation of the album, so I presumed that album is shelved?

The problem is that it would seem that she's never really stopped recording since work initially began on her third album, so there's a plethora of material. It's not like a shelved album in the traditional sense where she came up with an album, the label decided against releasing it, and then she started back at square one with a new concept. Or at least as I can best recollect. Maybe that is what happened. It all seems kind of hazy at this point (though I do recall that Harmony interview, now that you bring it up).

Singles covers that have instagram filters are tacky. Double tap has a variety of meanings but with that filter, I'm going with Instagram references. Gross.
