K-Pop (General Discussion)

The chorus on Dilemma? Perfect. That second verse though? It just throws the whole vibe off — it's disjointed for the sake of being and its inclusion doesn't particularly add much to the plate other than many thoughts of putting this perfectly icy, detached chorus into something more straightforward. BEP kinda overstretched the limit of frankensteining a song with this one but we're still streaming because if there's anything they can do, it's a chorus!

I'm kinda forced to stan that second verse because Chorong sings it like this

The song is so fucking smooth and even though I'm a bit tired of that sound, Taeyeon's vocal chops and the clean production of it elevates the song a lot. Also that fucking music video?????? Incredible, showstopping, ART.

As for Dilemma... I want to like it because I've eaten up everything Apink has released since their Apinkification but I don't think the song is there? The vocal production threw me off from the start, and if you're going to make a song disjointed commit to it. It's not jarring enough to excuse it so it just kinda... flops around dddddd And I don't think the chorus is strong enough to compensate for it. Oh well. I'm happy they are back, though, even if the song isn't it for me.

fff I'm glad someone said this, I couldn't agree more! None of us are strangers to thumb-twiddling verses at this point, but slapping that interminable, half-time slog between the best choruses humanity's ever known? Truly not it.

But yes, still gonna stream 100000x and just do some breathing exercises or something to pass the time!
