K-Pop (General Discussion)

Heeey ghouls and goblins, just letting you all know that I am also hosting a side rate along with K-Pop Boys 2022, and you can participate in it even if you don't vote in the main rate!

Well, it's actually comprised of two parts:
  • The first is a Hottest Male Idols contest... including categories for specific body parts like best arms, best ass, etc dddddd It's basically what everyone made out of the "Favorite Male Idol" thing from the first edition anyway... just don't let the puritan teen fans from Twitter find out about this much objectification, kii.
  • The second is basically me copying the KPJ Readers' Poll since we didn't have one for 2022 fffff (except it's only for male idols, of course). Things like Best Album, Best Debut, Favorite Vocalist, etc are all in, as well as some fun new categories like Favorite Suspiciously-Fruity Oppa.
They are both open format voting and you can vote for as many or as little categories as you'd like. More information and ballot templates here
.
NCT DREAM FIRST JAPAN SINGLE!!

Wait, this is properly great. I'm stanning! Love the video too.

This isn’t an affront towards @clowezra who I adore dearly (and I’ll welcome any excuse for the General thread to have a few posts in a row about boys, so thank you for that, bestie!), but I do have to chuckle that in the year of our lord 2023 we are still running with this narrative that all bg music is melody free clangs and bangs and aggressive noise. Having to rate All In and Back Door in KSOTY a few years ago really did a number on some of us, huh?

I thought it over and I’ve determined that if I had to recommend a mini album to somebody who hates the current boy group soundscape, I would recommend NCT 127’s WE ARE SUPERHUMAN…
It’s arguably the release that deviates the most from their established sound…
The title track was originally intended for SHINEE, so I think second gen fans in particular will appreciate it…

This is one of the best boy band mini albums we've ever had.
