*Ahem* I just find out that there is some format error in a score ballot which cause the should've been eliminated song next is getting bumped up nn. So yeah the promise isn't promising and I must delay the eliminations tomorrow to do some graphic fixing.

Oh also tomorrow I will try (will is the keyword) to eliminate 3 tracks tomorrow and all of them are getting 11s so stay perched.

Golden Child make their first exit with Knocking On My Door. I'm not that mad to be honest, this is the right song to leave first from them rather than the masterpiece Spell.

Knocking On My Door is very pretty, marrying trendy 80s revivalism throbbing synth with influences from tropical-house. It has healing yet also very euphoric quality into it. These qualities of Knocking On My Door reminds me a lot to NCT Highway To Heaven, but if Highway To Heaven brings a bombastic chorus, Knocking On My Door takes a more subdue approach in the chorus. I love how the melodies are sung by the members, in particular Jibeom and Seungmin (the bridge before small instrumental break for non-stan), though I don't know what happens with the main vocalists in here because their vocals are too strained here nn. Maybe they're just tired at the time.

@codecat criticize the vocals : "Find the note....find the note" kii. @RUNAWAY praises it but also tickle me a bit : "okay this is FANTASTIC?! I finally have another bop to add to my Golcha rotation which only includes Breathe fffff" Don't make us Woollim stans terrorize you with another Golcha recommendations ! @Slice of Life makes a comparison : "wait, this is kinda giving cix cinema 2.0.... maybe not as perfect but whew, its very good!!" while notorious deranged Woollim fan @Wills said : "One of thee great choruses of 2022, it was love at first listen and I still get those goosebumps"

But the one who fell in love completely to this song is @Crisp X , I will leave the final words to you bestie : "I don’t remember diving into this group before but this is by far the biggest surprise of the rate for me. Everything is on point here. The dreamy yet upbeat vibe, those wide open synths, that euphoric chorus, every line sounding like a hook… Yeah I knew I had to give my 11 to one of the songs that were new to me, and I’m going with the first one that blew me away!" Amen !

I'm saur sad.

Beneath the attempt to appear as "cool" (lol) and "not like other gays" online, deep down I knew myself I'm a dramatic sappy bitch who's constantly longing for love and thriving in melancholia. As much as I try to reject it, I AM a theatrical gays, constantly in awe at grandiose strings work and operatic vocal wank.

That's why I find myself so attracted to the bittersweet, shoujo anime opening-esque music that is awaken by Lovelyz, WJSN and April alike in 2014 onward. I don't know why but God, South Korea are absolutely amazing on crafting this bright yet sad sounds, perfect in soundtracking an unrequited love, loneliness and heartbreak.

April Story is one of that kind masterpiece. To me, this is the magnum opus of e.one. Sure it doesn't has the most intricate and improved production that they able to showcase later with the likes of MVSK or The Blue Bird. But the simplicity of it is perfect, letting the orchestral strings as mood landscape, neatly complimented the soaring melodies of April Story.

The melody is just chef kiss. It's absolutely heavy and epic, tethering in thin line towards cheesy territory. Just by the sheer strength of the melody itself along with the emotive performances from the girls, April Story manage to become a transcendental piece of art, bringing tears and emotions despite the language and lyrical differences. In short, yes this song has brought me tears several times.

To me, April Story deserves to stand toe-to-toe with other melancholic masterpieces like Destiny and Save Me, Save You. So it's so sad to witness April Story falls so far behind. Oh well, at least we still have The Blue Bird and Take My Hand on run :')

My Filipino sistren @Slice of Life gets me : "the vocal slayage…… i’ll never get over it!! That middle 8 saved me from k-wording myself" Exactly, this is the GOSPEL, the sound of Cherubim themselves ! @Wills has a change of heart : "Tinker Bell is obviously April's best e.one track, except for the days when it's this instead, which seems to be happening more often lately. Hmm…" Embrace the dramatique, the Canadian, the Celine Dion legacy in you babe. On the other hand, heartless @codecat said : "Always thought this was too saccharine even for them, that chorus is too over the top for me! The real serve from this mini is Just As We Are breathe if you agree" I will choke you so you can't breathe that opinion. JK that song is a serve too alongside Time Machine.

IZ*One-Oh_My!.mp3

Aah the Dark Ages of Mnet reality show. IZ*One was at their lowest...still skinny, nasty and broke. Career in shambles. They saw a chance after X1 sacrifices and came back in this bitch....mid as hell.

Naur please don't kill me, I loved Fiesta but reflecting back, it's lowkey their worst Korean title track methinks. And yes I'm a proud Secret Story of a Swan defender, what about it !

Fiesta is a very quintessential IZ*One sound, continuing the elegant yet delicate vibes they've served since their debut but injects it with even stronger energy. When I say stronger energy, they truly meant it by cramming Fiesta with so many elements, booming sound effects, every twists and tricks in musical theory. They even increase the tempo to the max as compensation for many gays that were supporting IZ*One, how generous !

Major complaint from casual fans about Fiesta was that kazoo-lite quality of instrumental breakdown, and I agree with that. I think if the instrumentals are replaced with more delicate sounding synths it will be more tolerable. Personally, I also don't like how rushed every melodies are. The hook "It's my Fiesta" sounds a bit forced and lack stronger impact compared to their other title tracks. To me, Panorama perfected the blueprint that Fiesta has laid out.

Let us talk about the MV a bit. Whew they did that, they're truly giving the gays everything they want. COLORS ! DRAG RABBITS ! TWIRLING RIBBONS ! 80s EXECUTIVE WOMEN REALNESS ! PLAIDS FOR LESBIAN REPRESENTATION ! WAVING SYMBOLIC LGBTQ+ FLAG ! LIPSTICK MIRROR MESSAGE ! Truly the MOTHERS of 4th Gen Girl-Group, literally gave birth to them.

@soratami doesn't leave us any worthy commentary, instead @codecat gave an insight : "Miss @soratami said she was SURPRISED that no one submitted FIESTA and Violeta for an e.one rate and I have to say that it isn't a surprise to me considering those songs don't sound like the classic e.one song us fans are more used to hear" which I kinda agree nn these are not really full e.one production but hey more variety for us ! Complete IZ*One hater @Wills said : "Still fairly convinced iz*one was a psyop all along, there's no way we all just agreed to enjoy this of our own free will" Ladies get ha !

Praying for IZ*One comeback is like praying I can smell Juyeon's arms, sadly never gonna happen. So instead enjoy and support this Fiesta (bootleg version) in KPJ Charts xoxo.

Another Kim Areum song in the basket. Taken from album SUMMER CITY, Drive is another collaboration between her and SPACECOWBOY.

Compared to the previously eliminated Your Summer, Drive felt even more stereotypically city-pop. Right at the start, you're greeted by the comically 80s saxophone riff. Brass are the stronger elements that appears in Drive, which maybe the reason that makes Drive less exciting to me than Your Summer with its bazillion bubbly synths. Drive also suffers a little identity crisis, whether stays as slow, slinky night drive jam or retro-wave club fodder. With such upbeat and tight composition, Drive instead opt for very mellow chorus. This results in a dissonance between the mood the melody has crafted along with the production. Oh and also I love your musical style SPACECOWBOY but umm can you find another type of beat ? Another type of rhythm ?

So yeah I don't really have much inputs for Drive except that I prefer Your Summer more nn. And none of you also said anything beside @codecat : "LOVE her voice" sdlfj but yeah you spill, her voice is delicate yet so emotive. A perfect indie girl methinks. For the recommendation, I suggest checking out this whimsical SPACECOWBOY solo stuff (sung by other indie singer of course) below xoxo.

Tomorrow we will eliminate 2 songs and it's gonna be very controversial ones again ff. Stay tuned !
