Boys Over Flowers is probably one of the most popular K-dramas ever. It's so good!
  2. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

Also, I think my favourite variety episode of every variety show is the idol star Star Golden Bell episode with SHINee, 2PM, Kara and Soshi. That episode never fails to give me life.
  3. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I've watched that one loads of times! Not sure but I think that was the one where Chansung gave a silly answer so Jessica had a breakdown of laughter haha
    Taeyang likes this.
  4. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

Yeah Lactobacillus haha. It took her like 10 minutes to catch on too. So priceless.
  5. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I never really watch K-Pop shows.. but I have watched

    - 2NE1TV (Season 2 through Youtube|Season 3 Now)
    - SNSD: Hello Baby
    - SNSD: Factory Girls
    - T-ara: Hello Baby (Currently watching)
  6. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I watched the first episode of Jungle Fish 2 and it was really good! Was not expecting to see Joon from MBLAQ and Jiyeon from T-ARA so a nice surprise!
  7. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I was watching KBS World the other day and caught an episode of 'Romance Town' which I cannot recommend enough. It looks a bit cheap and is awfully cliched, but hey, isn't that why we watch KDrama?

One I watched maybe a year or two ago and really enjoyed was called 'City Hall' - worth a watch.
  8. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I will check those both out! I read the synopsis of both and they seem up my street. And I love Kim Sun Ah and she's in City Hall so I am gonna start with that one first I think.

And for anyone, is f(x)'s Koala (I think that's what it's called haha) and SNSD's Factory Girls worth a watch?
  9. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

Factory Girl was alright. The two episodes where Tiffany, Jessica, Sooyoung & Yuri go to New York were hilarious. The rest, in my opinion, was a bit dull since I was just basically watching them work as interns. If you're interested in the fashion industry, you might enjoy it though.
  10. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I am obsessed with 'Real 2PM'.
  11. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

Well, that laugh was heard by at least half of my household.

I cannot get enough of her.
  12. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

City Hunter has finished. I don't know what to do with my life now. I swear I get this feeling after every drama finishes.
  13. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I need to start City Hunter! I love Lee Minho and isn't Hara in it too?

And I am still loving Eunjung and Jangwoo on We Got Married so much. They are my favorite couple on there ever.

Watched Club Daughters of Bilitis, the one hour special named after the lesbian club in the show. Was it a great story, worth watching for its artistic merit alone? Not really, although admittedly I didn't understand all the dialogue. Was it 'edgy' in any way? Of course not by western standards -- It was extremely safe and clean; no kiss scene, for one. But still: A set of sympathetic characters, a happy ending - it's a good start for a proper representation of lesbians on mainstream TV, and I'm glad it was KBS who broadcast it.
  15. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

I guess you have to put it in the perspective that Korea has had to modernise/gloabalise itself in such a short space of time that it's no surprise that it is still quite a conservative and sometimes 'backwards' culture compared to Western standards. I mean it was only 30/ 40 years ago that South Korea was one of the poorest in Asia!

I'm glad things are changing, though.
  16. Re: K-Pop On The Telly

This is completely correct. Their economy has advanced so fast that 'society' has found it hard to keep; South Korea is a bizarre mixture of cultures at the moment - but at least they're taking steps in the right direction.

Just randomly came across an episode of Happy Together I haven't seen, with 2PM, Lizzy, UEE, Bong Sun and...some others I've never heard of.

    Part 1.A - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSq47TaFfQs&hd=1
    Part 1.B - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-1DXXndBfw
    Part 2.A - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3U-7SU9VFg
    Part 2.B - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ41BC0k7Ws
    Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XR_3UdPfOs
    Part 4 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx61VZYxf7c

It starts off pretty dull but picks up about halfway through.
