Kacey Musgraves - Deeper into the Well

On first listen, I'm very much enjoying her return to this earthy, folkier sound. It doesn't really give me "instant first single" vibes but it seems to operate as a mission statement for the album itself. Like others have mentioned, there's a quiet wisdom and peaceful, rollicking, lived-in feel to it. I also appreciate how that underlying synth layer in the chorus manages to sound like distant, flowing water (love how she gives it space to breathe at the end of the track, too!). My biggest nitpick is the tiny audio glitch at 0:16.

So many things to be excited about: The beautiful album artwork, 14 song tracklist(!), such a quick rollout, gorgeous merch... I have a feeling we're in for something special here.

See, i know I adore this song because it has me revisiting her whole discography.

While Golden Hour is one of my favourite albums ever…I still think Merry Go ‘Round is her best song and probably impossible for her to beat.

I am grateful that it’s only a month wait for this album- presuming this song is indicative of the soundscape- I cannot wait to just exist in the world she creates.

Same here and I love her every album. I adore star-crossed. It has so many highs. Today I couldn't stop listening to simple times and what doesn't kill me.

The whole new album package is a dream and I am so happy that we don't have to wait a few months for more new music.
