I think so it will be right-side-up when you put it in a walkman - and since the Kacey walkman is clear, you'll see the whole tape in it.

Also I put together a couple of artworks if anybody wants to use them (or has suggestions to make them better, I did them super fast)

The 15-song collection, structured as a modern-day tragedy in three acts, tells an extremely personal journey of heartache and healing and displays Musgraves continued growth as one of the finest singer-songwriters of our time. star-crossed : the film takes the music from the studio to the screen with gorgeous visuals and a sense of heightened reality envisioned by Musgraves and Zeinali and shot by Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born, Black Swan). “We wanted it to feel cinematic and epic without compromising the heart and the emotion,” Zeinali says, “to feel fantastical and heightened and tell her story through the lens of art and fashion.” The 50-minute movie was filmed over a 10-day shoot in Los Angeles and features cameos from Emmy Award-winner Eugene Levy, Victoria Pedretti (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, You), singer-songwriter Princess Nokia, Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race winner) and comedian Megan Stalter. Boy, those are three of the least appealing vinyl colors I can think of.
The red vinyl really doubles down on the Christmas realness of the cover, but at least it matches?
I'm gonna cave and buy one variant, and might go for this one as I'm not sure whether every variant comes with the red veil image, which I can pretend is the cover when I display it. Do we know? I don't see it in every mock-up.
So far the red or the purple one look the best to me for the vinyl, but holding off until I hear more from the album.
The HMV version is the same as the Target version, and Target says their version has an "exclusive sleeve," so I've been assuming the veil photo is the exclusive sleeve, i.e., the other variants don't have it.
I quite like the black background. Makes it look classy. Though it also means the pink reflections don't make much sense.She's released a Spotify Fans cassette with alternate cover art (the red is black)..... ugh. Was hoping for a vinyl.
Watch this be the Suburban Outfitters alt cover. It probably won't be (and that's assuming they have one), but if it is: I told you so.
To be fair, if it does open down the middle, that's a neat trick - in and of itself, but also because it would physically symbolize the heart breaking - that couldn't be easily replicated with another cover.

Just noticed Amazon UK's non-exclusive listing is clear (or white? I think clear), not half-and-half. Maybe that's the standard, and the half-and-half is a Kacey store exclusive?
Amazon US still only shows the exclusive versions, oddly.
EDIT: The plot thickens... Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and Bull Moose have listings for the three surprise variants, but no others. So it seems like those are the standard in the US. Weird.
Her posting the red veil and microphone covers on Insta but not the dancing one I like is a personal attack on me.

I ordered the purple/violet one from her store but now I’m tempted by the HMV red... jeez sometimes there’s TOO MANY options.
