I want her videos to be released on D.V.D along with her lovely Wogan performance of Rocket Man.

Yes! Sadly she never will, if she had her way I suspect we wouldn't even be able to watch youtube clips of her.

Aerial could've been a one disc masterpiece, I love 'The Bush' but Aerial would've benefitted from some ruthless editing i.e. most of the first disc except The Coral Room/How To Be invisible, the rest can go......I can hear the sound of wood being collected for for my funeral pyre, thou cannot say a bad word about 'The Bush'!

BLASPHEMY!! (but you are essentially correct. I would have saved "King of the Mountain" too -it's a good song despite the appalling 80s 'reggae' riff in the guitar)

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

Have I mentioned the story of Kate Bush herself calling each single person working on the Aerial campaign to thank them for their great work? Every.single.person.

A phone call.

What a lovely woman.

It'll be a hits collection with new songs. Whaddya bet?

Apparently, it's not. Her official biographer has dismissed this. I don't think we'll get that until she's dead! She'll be more productive in a coffin, just you watch... there'll be loads of demos, unreleased albums, rarities and unseen videos once she's popped her cloggs.

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

Jodie Harsh (...) claims on Twitter the first (...) video has been shot.

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

There is no official biography is there? The closest to an officially-sanctioned thing was the Graema Thompson book 'Under the Ivy', but even he has never spoken to her. I think that even when Kate dies, everything will remain under lock and key, the Bush family retain all the rights and they are (rightly) very protective of her work.

I can't believe a whole video could be shot without anyone leaking that it was a) a video for a Kate bush song, b) pictures.

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

There may not be a biography but she might have an official biographER. (I don't know though.)

Whilst I think you're probably right, what is the point of all that stuff even exisitng if it's not ever to be heard by anyone but uncle and aunt Bush?

Who is her official biographer and he/she is actually responding to rumors?

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

A new video could have been shot without anyone noticing quite easily...especially if she isn't in. You could see that happening.

This is the 'recognised' Kate Bush biographer, who also writes for The Guardian, Uncut, The Word, etc.

I don't know how reliable his information is but he's sent messages to my friend dismissing a compilation album as "highly unlikely"... which is what we all thought anyway.

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

haha #KateBush is trending in the UK. Love all the new release hysteria. My partner announced this morning that he dreamt of the new video from Kate. I was like 'what for a song you haven't even heard and probably won't this decade??!'

It's not EMI, it's Kate herself . . she has always had a very unique agreement with them.

I find that aspect of her place in music history part of her mystique and appeal. The fact that she is essentially a relic of a long-ago time in the record industry, but has kept her contract and terms of relationship with EMI (who have changed worlds from what they once were) since the late 70s makes me think she is just that bit more amazing.

Just because she's the ethereal super-icon, doesn't mean we'll be satisfied with an album that has absolutely no visual presentation.

Well - why not? She clearly doesn't feel comfortable with creating visual presentations on the scale of what she did in the late 80s, and her music can completely stand alone without any visuals whatsoever. Not many artists can produce music which does that.

With an artist who can command the respect she can, I am happy for her to make the decisions on what she does with her artistic output. If she is content to concentrate on the auditory side alone, I am too, and I think her fans should be as well. This isn't Lady Gaga we're talking about.

She doesn't need to go to that extreme (this is Kate afterall) . .

I will happily buy the album regardless of any factor, but it does no harm to hope she is not in the same head space with regards to promotion that she was in with "Ariel".

But if she is, I don't mind (that much).

I have heard otherwise, so we'll just have to see what time bears out. I do not personally expect an album, but stranger things have happened.

I had a weird dream last night that I was playing "The Big Sky" out in a field and all of a sudden Kate appeared and started doing a crazy dance to it. Really weird, but really amazing too!

Re: Kate Bush - New album in 2011. Possibly.

I feel so excited about this news but trying to contain the joy until we have confirmation of the exact nature of this release. I think the cautious statement from Kate's spokesperson perhaps does point to a collection with, possibly, a couple of new tracks.
