If you’re sitting comfortably, I’ve compiled a very long list of everything I know of…Thanks for this post!
I feel like it's always been hard to track down what songs have different single versions compared with the album versions with her.
Kate Bush - Alternate Mixes.
Please note that I am not including the Director’s Cut tracks as alternative versions as this was a separate project with its own studio album. I’m also not (generally) including live tracks or live TV performances. The four On Stage EP tracks are the exception as these were included in her 1990 boxed set.
Wuthering Heights
- 1978 Single and album version.
- 1986 New Vocal (vocals re-recorded, track remixed). Included on The Whole Story and The Other Sides.
- Album version.
- Single version with “He’s here” intro. Appeared on original single and on “The Greatest Love II” 1989 Telstar compilation (only known CD issue of this version).
- Album version which leads into Saxophone Song.
- Single version (b-side) that does not have this lead-in.
- Album version with gong at the end.
- Single version without the gong.
- Album version with In Search of Peter Pan leading into the synthesiser chords of Wow.
- Single version with synthesiser chords removed. Appeared on original single and on The Whole Story.
L’Amour Looks Something Like You exclusive to the EP. The other three tracks are different to those on the Live at Hammersmith Odeon video soundtrack. Appeared on original EP and on the bonus discs in the This Woman’s Work boxed set (1990).
Breathing
- Album version, which also appeared in The Single File boxed set and on The Whole Story.
- Single version, which only appeared on the original single and on 1985 compilation for Greenpeace (only known CD issue of this mix). Very similar to album mix, but the spoken word section that is in the far right on the album is centred on the single.
- Album version, fading into Delius.
- Single version without the fade into Delius. Included on The Whole Story.
- Album version with fade.
- Single version with a different ending (no fade). Included on The Whole Story.
- Album version with Babooshka fading into it.

- 1993 mix of 1980 single version. Very similar to 1980 mix but lighter. Included on Moments of Pleasure 12” and CD singles (the close similarity with the 1980 mix means that it could be this 1993 mix that’s on The Other Sides).
- 1982 Album mix, also used in The Single File boxed set and on The Whole Story.
- 1981 Single mix, only used on the original 7” single. Noticeably different to album mix.
