Hiiiiiiiiii K-pop hunties! Let's start this rate that i've had in my mind since 5-6 months ago. I genuinely love most of these girls and their EPs and have listened to them numerous times since their release. All the girls went with something that they liked to be as solo artist and that's a noticeable factor who made this mini albums enjoyable and you can easily find some gems between album tracks , which is not a common thing in K-pop specially these days. I have some write-ups about each album which i post during rates. Let's have a quick view about the history of these EPs . SM Entertainment started giving an opportunity to some of his girl groups' members to show themselves as soloists in 2015. ( Unfortunately) He started with f(x) member Amber on February with Beautiful EP and lead single Shake That Brass, that Amber herself co-wroted all the songs and was a successful ( commercially of course , i'm not talking about quality) start for SM to continue this project. 1. Beautiful 2. Shake That Brass ( feat Taeyeon ) 3. Love Run 4. Heights 5. I Just Wanna ( feat Eric Nam) Taeyeon , which became the most successful one between these girls , was the second girl who released her mini album I in October. Her vocal abbillity and her huge GG fan base made the EP best selling album of the month and won her some awards , music shows and big sales numbers. 1. I ( feat Verbal Jint) 2. U R 3. Stress 4. Gemini 5. Farewell The number of soloist SM girls increased in 2016 and my girl , Tiffany became the third girl who got the chance. She (obviously) received a less success than Taeyeon but received positive reviews between from US critics and Billboard put I Just Wanna Dance as 7th best K-pop album of 2016 and had a good commercially running until that mess that i don't want to talk about and y'all know it. 1. I Just Wanna Dance 2. Talk 3. Fool 4. What Do I Do 5. Yellow Light 6. Once In A Lifetime In the same month SM gave the chance to another f(x) girl , Luna , who her EP , Free Somebody, was considered as an unexpected move from her image as a ballad singer. And that gained her more critical acclaims than album sales which is more important in my eyes. 1. Free Somebody 2. Breathe 3. Keep On Doin 4. I Wish 5. Galaxy 6. My Medicine I's success made SM greedy for another successful EP and who's better than the girl that had the experience before ? Taeyeon released an EP which showed a different musical side of her and continued to slaying with title track Why. 1. Why 2. Starlight ( feat Dean) 3. Fashion 4. Hands On Me 5. Up & Down ( feat Hyoyeon) 6. Good Thing 7. Night My underrated girl , Seohyun started working on her EP in 2016 for a couple of months but released Don't Say No last month in 2017. She wroted all the album tracks and accepted the responsibility of it and her EP went to #1 on Gaon albums chart 1. Don't Say No 2. Hello ( feat Eric Nam ) 3. Magic 4. Lonely Love 5. Love & Affection 6. Bad Love 7. Moonlight From news that we had earlier this year , Krystal wanted to debut this month but then SM denied the news and pushed the album back, which made me include the other Jung sister that released her EP on 2016. 1. Wonderland 2. Dancing On The Moon 3. Celebrate 4. World Of Dreams 5. Beautiful 6. Tonight Extras Yoona - Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway Hyoyeon - Born To Be Wild Hyoyeon - Mystery Seohyon x Yuri - Secret Taeyeon - Rain Taeyeon - 11:11 Tiffany : Heartbreak Hotel Jessica - Fly ( feat Fabolous) Taeyeon - I Got Love Taeyeon - Fine Rules - Rate all the songs with a score between 0 - 10 - Only one song may receive your 11 as your favorite song - Decimals are allowed - Commentary is encouraged and appreciated! - Please use the pm-able list in the next post I give you a full month to send your ballots since i want everybody as possible to have more fun.
