Kim Petras - "brrr" + General Discussion

Her merch store says it all (from croissants to coconuts to 00s lip gloss to... right back to where we started)

Yeah, considering they can't decide on a direction to save their life, they should stop producing merch and making her a new logo at every turn. It's messy as hell.

Future Starts Now sounds better and better with distance, so I concur with the others here who hope she or preferably someone else runs with that vibe soon.

Future Starts Now unfortunately sounds pretty good but I won't be listening to it. I hate her with a passion and it's pretty much all I can think about when I hear her music.

She still comes up in my (otherwise brilliant) Daily Mixes that Spotify makes me. Mercifully it's stopped putting Slut Pop songs on there, but Future Starts Now does sound good alongside some of the other synth pop girlies.

Problématique actually, at least on the surface, isn't nearly as terrible/potentially infuriating lyrically as I was expecting but, again, the instrumental is so...weirdly flaccid? If you're gonna take cues from Don't Call Me Baby where is the BASS

Not this feeling like reverse psychology when the girls are theorizing that Aaron leaked it.

This is basically Mabel's album except hers is ethically sourced. None of it is bad, but I struggle to form any strong opinions. I'm glad to have Something About You in listenable quality at least. I can see why the label had no confidence in this (on top of *gestures around* everything else).

I'd imagine the album was those 14 tracks and Future Starts Now, Coconuts (though I think this was probably from an album recorded around the same time as Malibu), Runway Walk + the two tracks from Slut Pop that got moved to the EP.
