Ok this one is undeniably great.

 

Love that she’s still playing in these late 90s-early 2000s alt sounds

 

Not as immediate for Only Time Makes it Human, but not bad either

 

It's a better song than whatever that other shit was but still quite annoying innit? Her voice is her best quality but it's so hidden on these songs to the point that she sounds nasal and actively annoying.

 

I love both but this one's a bit of a banger.

 

It’s kinda like Moby meets Tom’s Dinner.

 

Percussion and keys at the start is giving me Freedom! 90.

 

Yeah I’m not totally in love with the vocal delivery here but the whole soundscape of it is a serve.

 

This is SO Tom's Diner at first impression. The production is incredible but sort of just buries the song alive. Maybe I'm just soured on her personality and brand too much to surrender to the music but I feel like she needs a harsh collaborator who tells her when her shit stinks. I know she has the talent, but she can't keep serving us these forgettable takes off the goodwill of "1950"

She’s 2/2 for me. Only Makes It Human has quickly become one of my favorite songs this year - it’s propulsive.
