Koda Kumi

Hmmm… the standard release will have an edited concert but the fanclub edition will have the full concert and the “Wings” video. Not sure which to go with.

“Trigger” slaps already. Sad it’s not a “single”.

Wait, so the edit of the concert on the standard releases is legit just the concert cut in half dddd.

I don’t actually want to buy this but whatever. It’ll be a min before I get to see her live.

“Trigger” is a badass bop but everything else is kinda just okay. This would’ve been one of the rare times I’d get a CD-only release.

Is it safe to assume none of these will be on her next album?

The closest release to this one I can think of was "Gossip Candy" and "Lollipop" got featured on "Dejavu", so you never know.
True, I guess I’ll pick up the regular editions later on. I just can’t be arsed at the moment. It feels almost anticlimactic how it just came out ddd.

It was a nice treat coming home to the Trigger and Wings PVs on Youtube this week! I haven't ordered a physical version yet but am listening on Spotify. At first I wasn't sure about Trigger (specifically the chorus and I wasn't sure if I might find it a bit throwaway eventually?) but it's been stuck in my head and am enjoying it for now! Love Wings and overall this is a cute mini!

I finally gave this a proper spin, I do like this release a lot. All the new songs are kinda new-ish in sound and bring something not so ordinary to Kumi's discography. "Hello Yesterday" is a very hopeful sounding number with some nice melodies in the chorus. "BLACK WINGS" is hype AF and it's criminal it's only a short interlude. "Trigger" feels like a continuation of "Killer monsteR", where she goes for that trip-hop sound, only it gets less cringey with each next installment. Not sure it tops "Killer monsteR" for me, but it's good, so many catchy moments and she sounds fantastic. "Heaven Tonight" is pretty cool with some heavy vocal processing and I can see that she worked with this Young Yazzy guys, who is a rapper and producer and it's exciting to have something fresh. And lastly "It's 'K' magic" is kinda bonkers, isn't it? Such a great energy Kumi track. Love.

It's crazy thinking the big JPop girls used to be selling albums in the hundred thousands or millions! I have put Wings in this month's JPop order!

I think the Japanese started to finally embrace digital more. Surely we had Recochoku for years now and it was always huge in numbers, but it seems that the only wat to sell millions of physical copies is to do a gimmick like that thing with tickets for AKB groups.
