Oh, that's a man! I didn't know this fellow before but I can definitely see why he would be someone's favorite. Handsome face, strong arms, beautiful golden skin (sadly one of the many victims of pale Korean foundation and filters in some pics I've seen during my research).

I was gonna say "come on 4th gen representation!!" but Jaejun actually first debuted in 2012 as a member of the boy group C-Clown using the stage name Maru (that's the same group DPR Ian is originally from). Following disbandment, he continued to train and eventually joined the survival show MIXNINE and made another debut as a member of the now-disbanded boy group TREI. In 2021, he became a member of the duo JT&MARCUS and then participated in the survival show Wild Idol where he finished fifth place, making him qualified to debut as a member of the group TAN (who are competing in this rate with the excellent DU DU DU).

C-CLOWN?! K-Pop group names remain so unserious ddd.

Also, it's hysterical to me that I saw the 2012 debut I went "Oh wow he debuted forever ago he must be on the older end!" and he's fucking 25...
He was actually one of the youngest male idols to debut, yeah dddd He was 15 or 16 (never sure if these numbers are the actual age or the Korean age).

C-CLOWN was in my personal Top 5 boy groups back in the day so I've liked Jaejun for a while now, but back in the day he was definitely more of a Prince than a King. The glow-up was immense. I credit this performance for rewiring my brain.

I remember he used to get called some terrible things back then (which... look, K-netz have never had any chill, but I still need reparations for what they were saying about someone who was 15!!!) so I'm happy he's proudly hailed as TAN's visual member now.

Can Team Tears catch a fucking break omfg

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! ENHYPEN started as total flops and then enjoyed a brief moment in the KPJ spotlight after releasing Drunk-Dazed, which went on to win KPB21, but their material from last year did NOT please the girls, and Blessed-Cursed was the beginning of the Ciara gif. I… kinda understand why it did so badly (it’s… trap-rock) but I also think some of you are doing waaay too much on it / not giving it any chance at all. It’s not a song with an instant pop chorus like their previous singles, but I still found it to be a massive grower (the same can’t be said for their other 2022 title track).

Let’s start commentary with @nikkysan (0) who honestly really rubbed me the wrong way here: “I was contemplating on purposely tanking ENHYPEN as revenge for them stealing the 2021 Rate win but with this song, there’s no need for that.” OK, first of all… you still did it?? kajhdkadkff Please don’t say shit like this again because it’s pretty obvious this zero is still loaded with spite. Second of all this narrative that Drunk-Dazed was some kind of dark-horse or surprise winner needs to stop, period. The song continues to prove very popular even with non-K-Pop fans and is currently sitting pretty in the middle tier of the latest edition of the Winners’ Rate competing against legendary English-language songs by pop divas and girl groups.

Second lowest scorer @Attis (2) blurts out “Wow oppars so swag” …OK? Maybe I should start demanding coherence from the sub-4 obligatory commentary as well. @Slice of Life please stand on my shoulders while I’m deep sea spreadsheeting!! On the other hand, @eccentricsimply (2) has a wee paragraph for me: “I don't know what happened to the Enhypen that released songs I enjoyed but they are gone. I like the music video, if anything, but the music is... I don't know. There's no identity here, nothing that makes the song stand out. And if the song was just a bit better, I wouldn't care much about it being faceless. Oh, well.” Oh yes, the MV is so stylish and the late 90s/early 00s aesthetic is very trendy right now. They were a bit ahead of their time, it’s true, it’s true.

@leedlelee... (3) laments: “I’m sorry nothing is working in their favor here… They did the best they could with a very dull instrumental…” Speaking of that, one thing I noticed is that this was their first title track with considerably less vocal processing, so each member’s performance feels a bit more differentiated. @boom bazooka joe (5) says: “I'm so sorry to my besties who want me to like Enhypen, but their songs just do nothing for me.” Hmm.. I wonder who he's talking about. @enjoy (5.5) wanted more: “Eh i expected a lot better from them after Given/Taken and Drunk / Dazed.” The good sis @Ana Raquel (6) brings up controversies: “Maybe if they spent less time bullying members and more time focusing on releasing good songs!” Giiirl, I’m not talking about this x

Anyway, to me the only glaring flaw here is that it doesn’t have a bridge or proper ending, something also noted by @MmmDani (7): “Blessed by a great start, cursed by an abrupt ending. I hate the 2020s.” Yes, streaming culture needs to die!! @chrisjche (7.5) compliments the choreography and stages: “Far from my favorite ENHYPEN song - but they perform the crap out of it and it's really awesome to watch their growth as artists. This song hit HARD at the concert as well!” I bet it does... if only non-BTS HYBE teams remembered Brazil exists and goes hard as fuck for K-Pop!

@Salami (8) says: “I can see why people would say this isn't very good if you compare it to their other songs but I really like it. Although the only bits that stick in my head are the English bits, I always forget how it goes until I listen to it and then when it starts I think it's Layla. Which is also a great song.” NOT an Eric Clapton reference now! You and @boom bazooka joe need to form a straights coalition to maximize your joint slay!

Let’s end with the positive thoughts as usual: @Macsun gives it a (9.5) and comments “This took a minute for it to click but when it does you’ll be boppin’” That’s what I’m saying! @RUNAWAY (10) spills: “this song is so underrated.” Maybe @Untouchable Ace (10) hasn’t been paying much attention to their trajectory: “their winning vibe continues.” Bestie, they are LOSING!! @Slice of Life (10) makes a revelation: “will i be dragged if i say this is now my fave enhypen song? and that i almost gave it my 11? kii!” You know what's an 11 worthy EN- song? HEY TAYO.

I think what @nikkysan was jokingly implying was that they wanted to tank Enhypen regardless (even if the song was good) but didn’t have to do that (…because the song was actually bad) ddd.

In hindsight my 5 feels high (for me) but I was just so happy we didn’t have to rate Pass the Mic that I was feeling generous. If only someone had submitted That Feeling When I would have gladly and deliciously given them a 10.

Now it’s really time to lay off Team Tears.

No, I got that! I still think the 0 was side-eye worthy... but the song was doing terribly anyway, so!

Now it’s really time to lay off Team Tears.
They are safe for the next elimination, hehe~

My commentary is facetious, this song would have gotten a 0 from me regardless of what happened in the previous rate. Like, anyone who knows my taste in k-pop well enough would know this is exactly the type of song I do NOT enjoy whatsoever, it was never going to get a high score from me, regardless of who released it. I'm the biggest GOT7 stan on this forum and I want their one song in this rate to leave immediately because it's shit.

If my score and commentary for this song was such an issue for you, you could have called me out on it in DMs when I sent my scores in, not waited until the song's elimination to put me on blast and paint me like I purposely sabotaged Enhypen out of spite. Drunk-Dazed was a merely ok song (TO ME) that managed to beat many amazing songs last year, but if they put out a nice song I would've been kind to them still (yeah I know that's easy for me to say in retrospect, but instead we got Blessed-Cursed, so...).

If it was a big issue I certainly would have, as I did when I had to implement the artist average rule. I didn't feel like it was actual sabotaging, that's why I allowed it. And I don't have an issue with you not liking the song, I didn't expect you (or anyone fff) to, I just didn't like the implication that such retaliation even crossed your mind, and the thought that it could happen for other voters too. I don't want to have to root for any of my faves to not win just so they avoid getting tanked next time. That's why I said "please don't say shit like this", because even as a joke it's the kind of thing that makes me a bit paranoid. But if you say it truly wasn't serious, then it's all good as far as I'm concerned, no hard feelings.

Also I didn't wait to put you on blast... like I said, I didn't think that much of it besides a side-eye when I first got the ballot. I don't plan any of this in advance, it doesn't apply just to the graphics ddd I just write what comes to my mind at the moment while reading all the commentary together.
