I guess out of their three songs, it’s not surprising that the Boy Boost one would be eliminated first. This is ZERO, a song by Woollim’s fourth gen group DRIPPIN.

I first took interest in DRIPPIN with their Young Blood comeback (a massive bop), and they kept my attention with the single album Free Pass, which contained my own Boy Boost submission from last year’s rate. It also helped that I found the members of the group extremely cute nn. However, they kinda lost me when they started going in this edgier, darker direction. I’d be fine with it if I still loved the music, but that wasn’t the case. I hated Villain, and while ZERO is a little better, I also don’t really have much to say about it. The song is catchy enough, it has a strong chorus, but I really don’t care for *this* particular type of rock-ish production. I also kinda don't like how long the pre-chorus is, it feels like it goes on foreeeever. The vocals are pretty great, the lyrics are… complete nonsense. I mean, what I picked for the post was kind of my only option. The MV is kinda cringe, I hate these “ooh, we are in a mental institution / bad school being oppressed by guards!” concepts, sorry ffff It’s giving early BTS.

Let's go to commentary... DRIPPIN hater @boom bazooka joe (1) makes fun of the title: “They told me it could be a zero or a one, so I'm just doing what they asked.” Welp! I think @Salami (5) is also praising Young Blood: “DRIPPIN released one of my favourite songs in 2021. This is a bit of a downgrade…” Meanwhile @nikkysan (6) articulates my feelings on the song better than I cared to: “Hmm I’m bit on the fence with this one, the vocals and topline are very strong, but production tiptoes between being kinda interesting noise to just typical boy group noise.” Yeah, exactly, exactly! @chrisjche (7) also feels kinda meh about it: “One of my least memorable of the DRIPPIN songs in this rate, but still not bad.”

@enjoy (7) doesn’t miss a chance to drag a certain other noisy group: “Are they rating the NCT discography? Cause damn, they kinda spilled.” Rotted!! @RUNAWAY (8) inspires my elimination graphic: “their ode to binary code....their minds!” and submitter/highest scorer @Attis (10) claims they are “In their best early TVXQ cosplay”.

Another one with a fox-like face, this is Sunoo from ENHYPEN! Some of you probably know him from the fat-shaming debacle (in which he was the alleged victim). I'm not sure where that idea even came from, all of these guys are very skinny, I guess he just naturally has thicker, more rounded out legs and [redacted], and also a cute round-ish face with full cheeks. Which are all very attractive features in my book, and a good match for the very sharp eyes and nose! He is also easily the most aegyo-prone member of the group, that eye smile is just ♡
