Jungwoo joined NCT in 2018 and he one of the members I wasn't really familiar with or heard much about, but I'm glad that changed with the debut of the DOJAEJUNG sub-unit... he is one of my NCT 127 biases now (with Jaehyun, Doyoung and Haechan)! Not only is he pretty, he is also so flirty and fruity sassy, a killer combo for me, as we have established. I've been loving the sub-unit's contents these days...

Ooh, our first true DILF (30+)! Suho is the leader and lead vocalist of EXO. He trained for a whole seven (!!!) years before debuting in 2012. Back when their superpowers concept was still a thing, his was Water. Sorry, I don't know much about him so I'm just writing some trivia! Also, while searching for pics for his collage I ended up finding out that it was him in the old iconic SKBUMS profile picture, so I couldn't not include it fffff Here's an obsession fancam since we were just talking about the special edition of the rate.

I’m so mad at you. Before I read that paragraph I literally went “now why does that look like the old pfp for SKBUMS” why are we like this dddddd.

Before there was OnlyOneOf, HISTORY existed with their homoeroticism in PSYCHO. During their heyday I believe they were considered the male version of B.E.G.?

MYNAME
Hope people remember this classic

If you can find their excellent Japanese album Five Stars, do yourself a favor and stream the hell out of it. One of the best boyband albums of 2014.

It’s really embarrassing but I went from hating on Suho in the 2020 version of this rate to him being my EXO bias in two years. If you watch any EXO behind or variety content you will know his main role is actually being bullied by the other members (in a loving way).

The group leader being the one under constant disrespect is one of my favorite tropes in K-Pop groups.

OK, time to get back to eliminations!

Tonight we are saying goodbye to Same Scent, the musk anthem by ONEUS! Man, I’m glad this got a lot of commentary because I honestly don’t have much to say about it. That production style just makes me instantly groan a bit, and when it hits the chorus my eyes roll so far back I can see this write-up struggling to form itself in there!

My fellow lowest scorers all say exactly what I’m thinking. @askew (0.75) is blunt: “I don't have the patience for this.” Very that. @eccentricsimply (2.5) elaborates: “This song sounds dated in the worst possible way. That chorus drop is just... this could've come out five years ago and it would be a better fit then - and I still wouldn't have liked it!!” Oop! @Attis (4) makes a comparison relevant to our next rate: “Ain't this that BTS song” Blood Sweat & Tears sweetie, I’m so sorry.

Many have taken issue with the chorus specifically: @enjoy (5) says “This drop chorus happening in 2023... No ma'am.” It does sound very passé. @MmmDani (7) also complains: “The instrumental drop cheapens it a little for me.” On the other hand, @boom bazooka joe (8.5) stans a bit despite saying the same exact same thing: “The synth in the chorus kind of cheapens what otherwise is a very sleek, moody, sexy bop.” Well, to me the worst problem is that I also don’t like the chorus melody, it’s so flat and repetitive… Sorry to be a hater, but I loved the last title track I heard from them (LUNA) so this was disappointing! @Wills (8.75) comments on that: “This year was always destined to feel like the comedown from their terrific 2021, but tracks like this and Stupid Love prove they're still among the most reliable 4th Gen acts”

@chrisjche (7.5) mentions their achievement: “This is just OK for me but good for them for finally getting a music show win!” @Christopher (8.5) is not tired yet: “Tropic Kpop? Yes please.” I’ve had just about enough of it! @Untouchable Ace (9.75) doesn’t really say much of anything positive despite the high score: “k-pop is supposed to be cutting edge, but at least Oneus completely make this drop synth work. the whole instrumental hook beat is what all music on the radio sounded like 5 years ago. unless they are calling this a throwback, things are happening too fast.” ONEUS stan @Salami (10) wants more: “It's like a perfect mix between A Song Written Easily and Twilight. I need them to have that big song that blows them up because they deserve it.” It does sound like a song written easily *insert RPDR shady noise*. @Slice of Life (10) says: “stupid love outsold but this is also very good!” Me watching BTS for the first time because I wanted to see the act that was threatening Gaga’s #1. And here I am now! ffff

Some just can't get past the dated production, but I could hear the good song in there. If only it was different.

It's shocking that this leaves before my lowest score in this rate.
