And with that...the voting lines are CLOSED!
Thank you to the
25 lovely participants who submitted ballots: (only lost 2 between the song submission period and voting period ddd)
You might be looking at that voter list and seeing a couple names going: “Who the hell is that?” Well…
Towards the beginning of the song submission period – your girl was struggling. No one was submitting songs. I know we all like to play the last minute game here, and the forum is dwindling every day, but it was still a bit discouraging at first to want to put all this effort into a rate and not have like – anyone to celebrate it with.
Then randomly, a user sent me a DM and said “Hey, I have two friends who are interested in participating in the rate who aren’t members. How should they send their ballots?” I gave it a think for a while. I’m generally a “more the merrier” type of person. I’ve participated in rates before that had non-users jump in, and it certainly didn’t bother me. I asked a few friends. One was like “I’m always jealous when that happens to other rate hosts.” Another said they didn’t care. We also…haven’t accepted new members for 84 years so it’s not like they could be a user even if they wanted to. (Which, they do.) So, in an attempt to have this rate happen at all, I gladly accepted their participation in both submitting song ballots and also vote in the final song list. Their participation is included in the overall rate results. So if you see two usernames you don’t recognize, well, those belong to those two users. Consider them “intended usernames” for future KPJers, provided PETER EVER OPENS UP REGISTRATIONS!
Some tidbits to quell your fears:
~ Their participation does not change the order of #1-3 or #50-#48 (the most important placements). In fact, most songs did not change rank more than 1 or 2 places (max 5). At the end of the rate, I will share the “members only” final results for those who are interested.
~ If I did the numbers correctly, their participation in the submitting of songs also did not affect the final song selection. (For example, some songs that maybe ranked 12th/13th for the year might have ranked 14th/15th, etc.) So for all intents and purposes, the song list is the song list that Jesus intended us to have.
The first song elimination will be coming later today. And it's a doozy. Any predictions?
