Something about Heya always reminded me of Red Velvet, but more particularly of the songs from them that I’m not fond of, if that makes sense. The chorus just does nothing for me.

Heya is the perfect example of the reason why i got into kpop. Full of interesting vocal hooks, a song that builds and releases the tension, great production and time changes and arresting visuals. It was done immensely wrong, apologize to Liz right now.

Need I remind you that I was a Red Velvet fan while everyone was still in diapers! I just think it’s been diminishing returns from them for like 5 years and a lot of people refuse to admit that… (while making the same observation on other groups who have been around the same amount of time xx)

So saying that IVE are (early) Red Velvet’s daughters is a good thing that I welcome <3

I don't want Somi in Twice. I like Twice the way it is. If she joined now she'll be like that new girl in Red Velvet that I still don't know because I refuse to acknowledge her existence.

I don't like when groups introduce more members after debut. I still don't consider that new girl in Red Velvet part of the group.

And I stand by that, what exactly does she do successfully? I’m not a very vocal fan as I avoid getting too involved in SM stanning thanks to their Jessica/f(x) treatment but I’ve been following them since Happiness and loved all their releases til around Umpah Umpah. I only appear as an anti because the rhetoric around them on this forum is ridiculous so I gotta be extra harsh to balance it out a little.

FFFFFFFF no shade to them but they only have one number 1 song…… and it’s a random English single for Overwatch or something



They are still number 4 though and A LOT more popular than, say, YG Entertainment’s BABYMONSTER. So it’s not really a bad place for them to be!!

aespa also only has one number 1 song.

But they also have 5 #2 songs, which is 2 more than SSERA, and like 15 daesangs more so I guess that helps!

To be fair, I think a lot of LE SSERAFIM's popularity is kind of overseas?

Looking at their Spotify monthly listeners, they've got more than the likes of New Jeans, IVE and aespa - which I think could sort of line up with a more western popularity.
