I don’t know if my affinity for the song came from it being released not too long before a moment of significant heartbreak, but “After We Ride” just feels like this incredible moment of an unbridled sense of catharsis, the sonic equivalent of allowing yourself to embrace the melodrama of being left in the emotional wake of a breakup; the fact that I can’t understand any of the lyrics without subtitles doesn’t dull that connection for me. Add onto that a trademark Brave Bros barrage of hooks and the archetypical “crying on the dance floor” soundscape and I’ve been utterly hooked ever since. There’s other songs in the rate that I can see as better or more bombastic songs, but I don’t think any song, Korean or western, resonated as strongly with me last year as this one did.
I really should have given this a 10. They finally realized what kind of song Minyoung's shouting was perfect for (arena rock queen!). It's an utter disservice that only got one live performance.
I do! It's their best comeback since their return, and the mini is great too. I still can't help but miss the Brave Girls that gave us these though! Does it sound like I'm saying I miss their flop era nn?
