While performing in Cologne earlier this week, German police armed with submachine guns protected Kylie, 50, and concertgoers at the venue.

It was previously claimed by DW.com that German newspaper Bild had reported 'a mentally disturbed Belgian man' made threats against the Australian star.

Pictures of the man were plastered around the concert venue and the Belgian police force was also contacted about the threat.

All men were reportedly frisked before being allowed into the concert, which had up to 2,500 guests in attendance.

According to multiple reports, male fans had their identities checked upon arrival.

A police spokesman told German news agency DPA: 'The organisers contacted us due to a possible threat scenario based on evaluating social media platforms.

'When it comes to things like that, we cannot simply stand by.'

Fortunately, the show went on as planned and 'without any disturbance'.

Kylie will perform in Amsterdam on Thursday, before heading to Copenhagen on Friday.

She will return to Germany to play a show in Hamburg on Saturday, then head back to the UK for more concerts.

The Especially for You hitmaker will tour Australia in March, with her first show taking place in Sydney on March 5.

I've been waiting to see Kylie live for about 11, 12 years but I never quite managed it for some reason. Last night was the first time I ever saw her and the night flew by. I loved it so much. One of those "I can't believe this artist that I've loved for so long is actually a real person that I'm finally seeing in the flesh" moments. A woman side eyed me for buying over 130 euros worth of merch but I didn't care.

Aww, such a lovely story! Glad you had an amazing time.

Sometimes the Japanese booklets can be unreliable but even the booklet for The Best Of in 2012 has “spells out”. I’ve always been under the impression that the original lyric was spells out and then after it got released fans misheard it as smells of and she sort of adopted it as the new lyric. But it started as spells and always should remain spells.
