Kylie Minogue - Extension: The Extended Mixes (Dec 8)

I don’t like 10 out of 10 taking the spot of an already short tracklist but also (and I know it’s my own eccentric thing) I hate 11 tracks for an album. 8 is short and sweet, 9 is three sets of three, 10 is a nice round number, 12 is the classic number, 13 is the classic number plus an extra surprise and 14 is a nice even number for a lengthier album. 11 is not even or round and feels like one short of what it’s supposed to be.

Stumbling into a Kylie thread to read…this.

If the track list is right then it seems like Drum, Piano, Running and When You Love Someone didn’t make it.
I do remember reading that it was unlikely that either "Drum" or "Piano" would be making it onto KM16. Perhaps "Somebody To Love" is a retitled "When You Love Someone," considering she had "Till You Love Somebody" on her last album.

I was surprised to see "10 Out Of 10" on the standard edition, considering that there was murmurs that it'd appear on the deluxe as a bonus track, but not too surprised, if it's true. It's like Bebe Rexha putting "I'm Good (Blue)" on the standard edition of Bebe. Oliver Heldens isn't an album artist, so why not have the streams of "10 Out Of 10" contribute to KM16's sales? Obviously, Kylie doesn't need to engage in this kind of scammery like Bebe does and "10 Out Of 10" is not the hit that "I'm Good (Blue)" is, but "10 Out Of 10" performed well on streaming for a Kylie track, didn't it?

September 11 seems like a pretty long time to wait if the single is out soon. Song is cool as hell but I think I'm done playing it in low quality.

American Life has 11 tracks. Just sayin'.

I assume she’ll be going with the usual route of 2 singles pre album. So one this month and then another in August/September. I prefer that as nowadays the whole era seems to be almost over a few weeks post album release. Means it stretches out for longer for us.

There’s every chance it will fit in with the vibe of the album. We need to just wait. And if you’re so offended by it (which is madness in itself) then remove it from the album.
A weak track always hurts a body of work. It's not a deal breaker by any means or doesn't mean it won't be a great album but this "just remove or skip it" logic doesn't wash to me whatsoever.

I hope that she drops Single No. 2 in late July and Single No. 3 to coincide with the release of the album, which is something that she hasn't done with BMG. Her third singles are always released a month after the album drops to little fanfare.
