I think it is taken from a song from french singer Edith Piaf titled "Padam Padam", and it's an onomatopoeia expressing the sound of a heartbeat.

When insiders leaked the existence of the song "Tension," who would've thought that it'd end up serving as the album's title track? Hopefully, it follows the tradition of Kylie's title tracks being absolute bops, while breaking the tradition of being overlooked when it comes to single choices.
