That’s because this thread is now being used for General Discussion as nobody ventures into the depths of Comeback Corner to use the appropriate thread. See also the Madonna thread.
Which will not do going forward -

Please use this thread for general discussion posts. Anything posted in this 16th album thread that is not about that will be moved there. If people purposely choose to not post there after this warning, then their posts will either be deleted or they will be warned/banned.

Thank you!

I know that it has been reported that Kylie's finished recording for KM16, but someone who I would've loved for Kylie to have worked with on this project is Richard X, assuming that the brief is still an electro-pop album. They just make so much sense on paper, so it's strange that the only time that the two have collaborated is his contribution to "Can't Beat The Feeling."

Every time I see this thread bumped, I get excited about it potentially being news about KM16 and that's never the case.

I don’t think we will hear anything news wise now until after Christmas. She’s got Australian wine promo coming up so I’m sure she’ll just stay there for a good chunk of time and then back to Europe in Jan for new album campaign build up.

I do like the quiet before an album release. The anticipation.

I'm genuinely curious as to whether Single No. 1 will be out before Sydney World Pride 2023 or not. I'd love a November release, but you're right—it's unlikely that we'll get anything before Christmas.

I’m a bit confused… 2 or 3 weeks ago he reported a meeting with label about release plans of album and singles, but the album wasn’t properly finished. Now they’re printing it. So there’s a standard and a deluxe edition, different vinyl colours, a cover and a booklet. And what about the 1st single? Was it pressed 2 months ago, at least, if these are the timings?
It’s more than a year I’m reading that pressing slots must be *booked* six months before, at least, but maybe I got it wrong and vinyls must be pressed at least 6 months before release.

From what I understand, record companies are booking time slots for pressing several months in advance but they don't have to supply the music until much nearer the pressing time. I guess internally they earmark those slots for particular projects, knowing a rough release schedule and if they miss those deadlines, they'll fill them with something they already have on schedule and ready to go so as not to miss the slots.

So in reality the actual music to be pressed and the colour variation decisions can be made very close to the pressing time. So a meeting where they reviewed and discussed the tracks a couple of weeks ago could theoretically have been finished off and the tracklisting finalised in that time and sent to the plant for pressing.

Then there's no reason an artist won't continue to record more after the fact that end up on streaming, or on CD as deluxe tracks, or even for an expanded edition later down the line, as pressing times are significantly less. Which I believe is what happened with Goldens' bonus tracks.

Another point of discussion from the user on SayH*y who first discussed the album. Again this is so subjective, but it’s worth discussing, since it’s pretty encouraging:
Those who are loving the new Tove Lo album right now are in for a treat, similar electronic sound to lot of the tracks with that indelible DNA that Kylie brings to a record.

Also just dropping this in here. BMG I know you see me and I’m not stopping.
JN: Is there a dream artist you would like to work with?

SG Lewis: Kylie Minogue would be great. I want to put it out in the world to see if it would happen. Kylie put a couple of my songs on her Spotify playlist so we’ll see if something happens one day. Let’s manifest it!

Well even if it's just a sliver of the same soundscape from Dirt Femme I'd say we are in for a treat. The album is really gonna end up being called Electric isn't it? Honestly it could be a serve if they get the artwork and visuals right.

The fact that both Jessie Ware and Kylie will be kicking off 2023 by giving us new material.
