Kylie Minogue - Extension: The Extended Mixes

I remember it well. It was the first concert I ever went to and I remember being so crushed that at points my feet weren’t even touching the floor! But I was so close to her! Towards the end we moved to the side so we could move and have a dance. Those were the days you didn’t have a clue what she would be singing so each track that came on was a surprise. Incredible show and such an experience.

I remember she did Should I Stay Or Should I Go as an encore and she got quite emotional at the response after.

What I would like more than any particular genre or style are vocals like this…. She really does have one of the most underrated vocal abilities in pop music. That last note is PHENOMENAL

I think it's been said before, but she is one of the few who can (at times) actually sound better live than on record. Also, 'For You, For Me' & 'Anti Tour' would be a most welcome release on any platform.

I really hope she brings out some more album tracks/deep cuts on the inevitable tour. It's so crazy to me that part of the setlist for the Fever tour, following her most commercially successful album & single, included so many deep cuts. Who would've thought she'd be singing Limbo in 2002?!

She is quite good at giving us deep cuts. I wouldn’t have expected I’ll Still Be Loving You in the Golden tour.

Vocally I think Kylie can still do some amazing things, there were moments in the last era where she really shocked me, the acoustic Say Something especially was a stunning vocal. She just sticks to the same area of her voice too much recently which is fine but it's a shame she isn't using the full scope of her range.

I don’t know if this has been discussed here before but I was revisiting the X era and while I really enjoy that album and think that it has some interesting and experimental production, there’s something about that era that makes it apparent that her heart wasn’t fully in it. I don’t know if she was thrown into making an album to soon after her recovery or if that there was a lot of expectations from the label for this to be her “comeback” album, that I just feel like they A&Red the hell out of it. I definitely thank Golden to giving her this new lease as an artist and as a songwriter cause you can definitely see she’s been more excited than ever to put out music and promote it these last two eras. She even has a more youthful and fresh quality to her than she did during X, for example.

They/them, he/him
that I just feel like they A&Red the hell out of it.

That is essentially what happened as I understand it. It’s almost like Parlophone lost faith in her after Body Language. They rushed out a Greatest Hits and then A&R’d the hell out of X.

That said, I absolutely adore the album. It’s a mess sonically, but when it gets it right- it absolutely gets it right. The only duds are Heart Beat Rock (which strangely came alive on the tour) and Cosmic which is just MOR nonsense for the hetties.

The visuals for the campaign are absolutely flawless. Some of the looks verge on Drag and yet they absolutely work.

I love this footage!
Live in Toronto - not New York!
In the backdrop behind her you can clearly see the CN Tower. The Toronto show was also the only indoor arena show on her 2009 North American tour.

I always forget I went to the Toronto show even though it was one of the most memorable concerts ever? My friend and I were near the back of the floor next to a group of leather daddies who wore harnesses over their Showgirl (original and Homecoming) tshirts. When the show started they saw their friends and somehow cleared a path for them to come into our area and they started sniffing poppers and dry humping (we were underage so this was very shocking). Some of them got up on the chairs and started shouting "minge" so I couldn't even see her descend from the ceiling. I think the security guard noticed and felt bad for us cuz she moved us to the front row just in time for Can't Get You Out Of My Head. The people there had left so my friend and I had the entire row to ourselves?! We had a meltdown when Kylie noticed us freaking out and she laughed and waved
