Kylie Minogue - Extension: The Extended Mixes

I feel like it'd make sense for Kylie to sign a contract with that clause at the time of negotiations—I'm sure that the contract had a lot of favorable clauses in her favor as well. We initially heard murmurs of the Vegas residency back in November last year, so who knows how long they've been working behind the scenes to make it happen? I doubt that anyone could've foreseen what would happen to Kylie with "Padam Padam" and how much her profile would grow back in November 2022. She definitely entered negotiations in a very difference position in her career than she is currently in.
Yeah this 100%. I feel like if she could turn back time she'd have not taken the residency and maybe done it once Europe cooled off again.

Even if this were the case her (hyper capitalist, extremely smart) team will be aware an artist's profile is always highest the months around an album campaign, even in an era that didn't hit as hard as this one did: it's where all the promo is focused, it's when fans are most hyped, and you can't recreate that sort of buzz six months later.

Unless she's got another album to go by May they wouldn't have scuppered their tour selling opportunity with a clause like this, particularly as she's not toured the past couple of records.

Except she has a new musical direction and a thirst to record. I can see an album in May 24.
Maybe a re-release. She mentioned she has two duets in the works in a recent interview. That could be added to the deluxe tracks already issued and some other vault or new tracks to make us all buy the album again.

he/him
She needs to serve Platinum Pleasure and basically tack a 7-8 track EP on as the “re-release”. A new release in all but name that’ll boost Tension’s sales.

I’m all for a speedy new album too (and I think it’ll be even quicker than her usual two year turnaround since they’re planning on hitting the ground running) but I can’t see it before the end of 2024/start of 2025 at the earliest.

Imagine not wanting your fav to perform arenas.

We're not talking about what we want though, but rather what she's able to do right now.

It would be a massive flex if she could do a stadium date or two and if there ever was a time to do a few dates it's now. The demand for An Audience With shows plus the massive profile boost and the GP love this era has shows us she could do that.

Regardless of the fact that this has been her biggest era in forever, every touring act at Kylie’s level has seen a massive bump post-COVID. There is surely no way that her team have potentially sacrificed massive bankable coin in her major markets for like, selling out six booths in a Vegas cocktail bar for about ten nights.

My guess is that Tension was basically made as a lil vessel for the Vegas residency, with less expectations than Disco sales wise, but then Padam unexpectedly exploded and at that point she was already tied to Vegas. She's getting her bag anyway but she really should announce a tour in the next couple of weeks while she's at the height of popularity.

So Tension has been played on US radio and they’ve changed the lyrics to……

OMG LOVE ME RIGHT THERE
I’m conflicted between a heart react because this is AMAZING or a duck react because that censorship is GOOFY.

I do hope “Tension” takes off, US radio was oddly mute with “Padam x2” despite it taking the country by meme storm. I blame Elvis Duran.

She needs to do at least one UK stadium and have it turned into various formats as a milestone achievement. Kylie Live at Wembley Stadium with special guests Jessie Ware, Nick Cave and Towa Tei
I feel bosting about doing a stadium show would be counter productive. Lots of artists (mainly all-male bands) who we don’t see much of and people may assume are less successful than Kylie do stadium tours. It would make people realise she’s not as popular as they thought.
