"Spinning Around" single-handedly took Kylie back from "that has been who bankrupted a label" to "...and this week's Number One is..." level. Without "Spinning Around" there would be no "Slow", "Head" or, as @WhatKindOfKylie? mentions, this rate, most probably. Kylie would be doing cameos a la San Andreas and possibly continue playing Charlene in Neighbours.

Mashed with 'Love At First Sight' on the Aphrodite: Les Folies tour...

_________________________________________________________________________________________

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what I think of this... I think it's perfect as the closer to Aphrodite but on it's own I don't appreciate it that much?

It's done bloody brilliantly, so you must like it?

Donut loves the throwback PWL sound...

@mrdonut - The final “ooo-oooh oooh yeah!”s are gifts from heaven above. An amazing PWL Kylie track that isn’t anything to do with PWL. THE song to play if you’ve had a shit day.

Hawks wants this performed more...

@hawkings24 - Love this song so much. I wish she'd have fucked LAFS off for the tour and just performed this because it’s perfect.

Perfect ending that cheers WKOK up!

@WhatKindOfKylie? - Wonderful all the way, and the perfect ending to Kylie's most fun and euphoric album in well over a decade! Always cheers me up when it's on, and now even more so than ever during these dreary, naff, cold Winter months. Plus that live mash up with 'Love At First Sight'! God, I live for it!

Ray just can't be bothered bless him...

@Ray - Can’t Be Bothered To Comment.

Simply...

@AlmostFamous - wonderful.

Candy loves this ending...

@One Stop Candy Shop - Very nice. I like this as the album closer.

Hazey loves the optimism....

@DJHazey - This one eventually won me over because it's bursting at the seams with the sound of optimism.

Gaz is another fan of the joy...

@Pop Gaz - Ok its 'Love At First Sight' Part II (or Part whatever), but who cares, it’s done very well and a great joyous track. A great closer.

RRS is looking for something else...

@RRS - This is upbeat and fun, but like a lot of the tracks on Aphrodite, feels like it’s missing something.

While Andsov isn't a fan...

@Andsov - As with Aphrodite the track the potential of this song is never fully realised, much down to poor production and far too cute vocal delivery. It has a nice melody.

IRJ doesn't feel the euphoria...

@idratherjack - Tries so desperately to be euphoric and just falls flat.

Both Sophia and Mikey could have this on loop for hours apparently?...

@SophiaSophia - I can't beat the feeling of Aphrodite never ending it was this song that made me listen to this album non stop for most of 2010-2011. Such an enjoyable and feelgood way to end the album. There's something a bit Fever about this but way more amazing.
@Mikey1701 - What a rush! I could listen to this on repeat for hours at a time. It perfectly encompasses the Aphrodite ‘experience’.

Joyous finish for Remorque...

@Remorque - perfect slice of pure joy. Fantastic closer for a fantastic album.

Slo rounds this off with this huge compliment...

@SloMover - I love everything about this. This is pinnacle Kylie for me.

One more in an hour!

I'm sad you don't like them, I wanted them to be a bit wacky - to compliment the track?
Oh now I bad! Just a few too many effects on it, looked liked something from covermania, when every other cover of yours has been simplistic beauty (Can't Beat The feeling is stunning) like all the best covers. Keep up the good work, and don't listen to me!

I totally get what you mean and I like the criticism. It's literally the only cover I went a bit mad with.

- B-Side to 'Into The Blue'
- Japan bonus track for Kiss Me Once

StopMe Sparkle remix...

(Extended version can be heard here.)

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Now I'm so bloody proud of this song and how well it's done!! By far one of the best from Kiss Me Once, it's Björk's 'Earth Intruders' meets Goldfrapp's 'Twist'... genius!

Mostly praise from you lot... again. Awww

Let's start with another goddess getting a mention...

@CorgiCorgiCorgi - Very Kate Bush.

Right?!! - why should Japan get the bonuses?!!

@Sprockrooster - A travesty Japan got this exclusively.

Hawks wanted this to open the tour...

@hawkings24 - Wow omg I love this song so much; I think it could've made a good tour intro. i.e Kylie on the screen behind a sheet of ice or something with a really stripped back version of the song or something before 'Les Sex' opens or something.

WKOK feels this stands out... too much?

@WhatKindOfKylie? - It's a decent enough song and made a nice B-side (for those who actually got it), but all the same, am glad it didn't get onto the album itself. Would have sounded way out of place.

Ray expects us to be his eyes and ears now?

@Ray - Why did nobody tell me this was SO amazing? How did "Sexercize” or "Cancel" find its way to the album instead of this? The chorus is whole other level of amazing. The production could be a bit… beefed up or something, as it has that "not completely finished" aura to it, but the song is amazing on all levels.

@AlmostFamous - this is divine. Those high parts. Why wasn't this on the damn album?!

Candy bought the Japan version...

@One Stop Candy Shop - Glad I bought the Japanese version of Kiss Me Once as this is better than half of the album.

Gaz, as we know hates the high vocals...

@Pop Gaz - The beat and drive is really something different for Kylie, but her high pitched vocals just ruin it a bit for me.

"EPIC" says RRS!

@RRS - This track is epic. The fact is was missed of the album is criminal as it is the best song from the whole era! How on earth do these incredible b-sides keep getting left off the albums again and again and again? PEOPLE! There are lessons!!! They need to be learned!!! The thumping bassline, the high notes are everything. More like this please Kylie, thank you very much!

Better than 'Into The Blue'?...

@idratherjack - Another example of where the B-side is better than the A, I love this with it's propulsive tribal beats. Epic and worthy of a spot on the album. A really different sound for Kylie and one that I love.

A Kylie "moment" among the mash...

@roblognick - It’s like to songs mashed together. It’s so odd. But the “Ohhhhhhh, feels like you lit me up” is a glorious “kylie moment”.

@Remorque - Nice and enjoyable, but nothing more, really...

Andsov reminds us why hindsight is a cruel thing sometimes...

@Andsov - Why was this not on Kiss Me Once?!? It is extremely good! KMO is a strong album in my opinion. With the inclusion of 'Sparks' and 'Golden Boy' it could have been perfect.

I love this riddle of riddles...

@SophiaSophia - My favourite Kylie song which has la la la in it now.

The most sonically interesting? Jesus has Mikey swallowed a book?!

@Mikey1701 - One of the most sonically interesting things that Kylie has put her name to this century. This is another case of a song being wasted as a b-side when it should have been on the album.

@mrdonut - Just excellent really

Yep!
...

I can see why Spinning Around is not quite universally loved. I personally adore it, and think it was the perfect comeback single. Maybe just maybe, without it, we wouldn't be even doing this rate now...
It really was the perfect comeback single, but as @letuinmybackdoor said, it's been rendered redundant by her much better songs since.

To pull from the Madonna thread, on Nothing Fails vs. Hung Up:
I don't care that it didn't claim widespread impact or smash records - it's a fucking incredible song and we at Popjustice are meant to know our shit when it comes to music.
I really don't give a fuck about impact. Impact doesn't make a song sound better.

In other news, I'm glad that Sparks has left. It's just so... noisy.

Can't Beat the Feeling is a nice basic pop song, and it serves Aphrodite well as the album closer, but it is so goddamned bland.

Sparks is indeed glorious. It is indeed one of the best tracks from the Kiss Me Once era. the chorus and a lalala bits are brilliant.
Can't beat The Feeling is actually rather good but I never find myself seeking it out. So I probably find myself enjoying more as the closer, as part of the album then on its own. Would have placed it lower but its nice enough.

I've just realised I've played Right Here, Right Now a ridiculous amount of times since its release. Its one of my most played. I love it. wooohhhhhhhhh.
Feels So Good is the start of the brilliant four track run on Kiss Me Once which runs to the title track only to derail a bit with an auto tuned love in with Enrique. It's great and all, but for me its not quite as good as If Only or Kiss Me Once (or sleeping With The Enemy for that matter)
Cherry Bomb is a fantastic track which quite rightly fizzes and pops.
