Me @ these eliminations:

Cancel isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be, but I'm not going to mourn it. One of my least favorites on the album, let me say it like that.

Whenever You Feel Like It is a loss for me. I've got a lot of heart for that song. It soundtracked Christmas 2002/January 2003 and a number of experiences at the end of my teens. That middle eight. The outro, when the Kylie adlib drops out to leave the instrumental running free for eight or so bars.

I'm happy with this. Both are far from Kylie's classic dance tracks, though the Moto remix does help improve Cancel somewhat. It's my version I always listen to now.

I do not like Cancel. I can't listen to it, the instrumental is slightly better, but then you realise how cheap it actually sounds. You can almost hear Parlophone suits screaming GET ON THAT BANDWAGON in the background.

Typically they missed the boat and were a year too late.

Cancel really is a strong contender for my all time least favourite Kylie single. I can't even listen to it.

I'm excited that most of the rubbish is gone now and we will be getting to the good stuff!

I don't mind 'I Was Gonna Cancel'. The 'go's' are similar to those in Beyoncé's 'Green Light' and the production is a bit limp but it's still a fun song. There were definitely better single options on the album ('Les Sex', 'If Only' etc.) though.

Right, first couple for the morning and the last remaining unblemished era takes a hit with this next one...

First of all I want to say thanks to whomever made 60% of the Aphrodite era covers for this rate, I couldn't improve on them so I had to use them!

This is the albums only real meh track, the production and vocals are just badly mixed. Shame as it had potential.

You lot generally felt meh about it too...

@mrdonut - The part of the album which needs 'Mighty Rivers' or 'Heartstrings' instead of this.
@Ray - One of this album’s many distinct 3/5 tracks.
@hawkings24 - Reminds me of the Sims but I can't hate it.
@WhatKindOfKylie? - It's a bit wet isn't it? Maybe this would have been alright done with SAW circa 1988, but certainly not over two decades on. Shame as it's the only true dud on display with album #11 for me.

AF is seeing the positives, alongside a Coldplay/Disney link?

@AlmostFamous - Kylie's very own Viva La Vida, this just whooshes you on a journey and it's a thrilling ride, could have been a brilliant soundtrack to a Disney/Pixar type film. Only niggle is they should have had it as the final song on the album with a lush outro instrumental.

String lovers...

@One Stop Candy Shop - The strings are really nice and the song itself too. Bit of an obnoxious song title though.
@Pop Gaz - I’m a sucker for strings, and so place Kylies sweet vocals over the top and you have me. Coupled with a great groove and great verses and its almost perfect, however the lazy repetitive chorus lets it right down.

RRS slags off the Aphrodite album... *sends killer pigeon*

@RRS - This track could be good, but has that blanket blandness that covers most of this album.

Some even felt it was one of her worst ever?!

@idratherjack - Such a dud, this just plods on and on. One of the worst songs Kylie has ever put her name to.

@Mikey1701 - Cheesy- and not in the good way.
@Remorque - Doesn’t excite me in the slightest. A low point on the album…

A nice interlude...

@SophiaSophia - So angelic and heavenly I love the way the music builds after the middle 8 reminds me of what Stuart Price did on Confessions just not as mind blowingly amazing though.
@Andsov - It's very very very cute. But as opposed to 'Better Than Today', the cuteness feels natural in this. The verses and pre-chorus are excellent. The chorus is a bit of a let-down, but all in all a good effort.
@DJHazey - It's a shame a second chorus doesn't get added at the end of the first one, because the song is just begging for it.

Slo ends it perfectly!

@SloMover - Looking for the skip button. (Ha!)

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year 6.05

Highest Score: 10 x 1 - @Farnaby
Lowest Score: 0 x 2 - @Bleu Noir, @heartmightmelt

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is a popular Christmas song written in 1963 by Edward Pola and George Wyle. It was recorded and released that year by pop singer Andy Williams for his first Christmas album, The Andy Williams Christmas Album. However, the song was not released as a promotional single by Williams' record label (Columbia Records) that year, as they instead opted to promote his cover of "White Christmas" as the official promo single from the album.

- Studio Video...

- Kylie performed this track on the 2015 Royal Variety Show...

Awwww, I love this cover. It's the campest thing ever put to music but it's Kylie!

It did good, so I think most of you appreciated it?

@mrdonut - How can you not love that OTT intro? That’s exactly how I want a Christmas album to open.

@hawkings24 - Good opener

The Gay (I kid) Grinch likes this one...

@WhatKindOfKylie? - Not a sentiment I'm ever going to agree with (bah humbug I know), but all the same it made a perfect opener to Kylie's first full blown Festive record, and Kylie suits the style of the track very well.

@One Stop Candy Shop - The intro to Kylie's Kampy Kristmas. One of the better 'traditionals' on the album.

Gaz actually appreciates the cheese overload...

@Pop Gaz - This is an odd one to score, because I actually really dislike the song, always have, and this is that dreadful song with the smulch piled on high…but you can’t help but grin and Kylie manages to win you over. Of course, could ONLY ever be played on the leadup to or over Christmas, but it does the job of spreading the Christmas cheer!

@RRS - My favourite Christmas song, ever. Totally nailed by Kylie, love it!

Disney gets a slagging...

@Andsov - Not as bad as the other standards, but I could do without it’s Disney presence.

and Sophia watches a bit too much TV... (~)

@SophiaSophia - I heard this so much during Christmas on various TV channels cause I heard it on an advert. The best of the covers on this album.

More later.

So glad Looking For An Angel is out! I can't stand it in all it's plodding blandness. I always wished it's spot had been taken with a studio version of There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart). That blew the roof off live and woke the Glasgow audience from their slumber.

These Christmas songs (except 100 Degrees, 2000 Miles, Everyday's Like Christmas and White December) do really need to bugger off now.

Quite surprised that Looking for an Angel has gone so early, ahead of some Body Language / X abortions.

I mean its not my favourite on Aphrodite, but its probably top 80 out of Parlophones

How can anybody give 0 to "Looking For An Angel"? It's so distinctly average it's difficult for me to imagine anybody having strong feelings, positive or negative, about it.

Another Recap:

Nu-Di-Ty - 3
Slo Motion - 6
Boombox - 6
I Was Gonna Cancel - 8
Whenever You Feel Like It - 6
Looking For An Angel - 9

Nu-Di-Ty should've gone out in the first 5 eliminations. I would've given Looking For An Angel a 10 if the chorus had a bit more to it as I noted in my commentary. It just leaves me craving more each time.

Lovely artwork, though that sparkle up her nose is a bit unfortunate.

LFAA is not one of my top favorites, but it feels a bit soon for it to go.
