Now, I love this song. It's pure pop and Kylie's personality suits it perfectly.

Sadly it didn't receive unanimous love...

@mrdonut - Some people on here love this don’t they? Unfortunately I find it completely rotten (although it was made bearable in the On A Night Like This tour)

@Anastasia Beaverhaus - Just because this is the first one like this after the Pink Panther theme
@AlmostFamous - was a bit sick of the Beat Goes On sample, despite loving All Seeing I's and Britney's take, this was a step too far and unnecessary.

@One Stop Candy Shop - One of my faves off the album. That's all I have to say about it really. Awww

Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!

@WhatKindOfKylie? - Kooky and kitsch, I love the whole swinging 60's vibe on it, and Kylie sounds so relaxed and carefree on it too which is great. Can never help but bop to it!!!
@Ray - The All Seeing I called and asked for the backing track to be returned, but since Kylie does not pick up calls from lessers, this song happened. I have no idea whether a koocachoo is a kootchie (which she is so in love with, which would make this song… interesting…) but I’m going to enjoy it anyway.
@hawkings24 - This completely bypasses the campness of 'Loveboat' on unacceptable levels; but again it's still a fun bit of a bop.

I bored Sprock...

@Sprockrooster - I was so bored with this track I tried to find out the meaning of this and stopped paying attention to listen.

Hazey's pop spirit was dwindling away...

@DJHazey - I'm probably overscoring this to be honest, because I'm already losing sight of what I loved so much on the first listen.

@Pop Gaz - A slight improvement over the similar themed Loveboat, and it again has an infectious drive, although I’d never actively seek it out to listen too.

idratherjack isn't a fan - le shock...

@idratherjack - Bloody racket. I never liked this 60s pastiche sound. It is like something that would feature Madonna and Austin Powers in the video ie best avoided.

@Andsov - Hmm. I've never been sure about this one. Like 'Loveboat', it's stuck between cool and annoying. It ends up on the cool side though, but only just.

A few of you got it!

@roblognick - This used to be one of my favourite songs from the album. I still love it. I can picture Kylie doing those sixties jive moves along with the chorus. Amazing.
@SophiaSophia - Love this it's kitsch and fun.
@RRS - Another great funky song, keeping up with the element that runs mostly throughout the album. This fits in perfectly as an album track and compliments the album well.

@Remorque - This one tries to switch things up a bit on the album with a more psychedelic sound. It doesn’t really interest me and has never been on my radar. I remember finding it rather annoying when I was younger, but I’ve grown to not hate it.

Mikey is asking the correct questions...

@Mikey1701 - Filler alert. And what even is a Koocachoo?!

Three tonight.

@Ray - I know it is fashionable to hate on this but I unapologetically love it. The best version is the one on Robbie’s album, with his rap – “single-handedly raising economy […] press be asking do I care for sodomy, I don’t know, yeah, probably?” I’d love to hear Bono tackle that part.
...

I love the version with his rap--it really makes the song.

I'm not shading Robbie, I love that part! I meant Bono could never.

The ellipses seemed sarcastic, as in Robbie isn't exactly making #hits #money right now.

They/them, he/him
Still no major losses for me which is wonderful. I think I gave Kookachoo a 6 and if I did- I was being extremely generous. It's just a wall of noise and I'm forever skipping past it to get to that leviathan that is Your Disco Needs You.

Awww two further Light Years tracks out already? Shame! I adore the kitch feel of Koachchoo and Kids is not that bad just way too overplayed. Can't Ocean Blue and Paper Dolls go Next? Too boring Impossible Princess esque dullards.

I LOVE ‘Kids’. It’s been hammered so much over the years and yet I’m not bored of it. ‘JUMP ON BOARD’ is such a great singalong moment and the performance she did with Dannii was a great girlpower moment.

‘Koachchoo’ is terrible.

Yay - Kids is out! If only it was out of every future tour setlist. Can't believe it didn't get a shedload of zeroes.

I must say I am starting to get embarrassed to always be the lowest scorer, I assure you I do love Kylie really! I think nearly everything I dislike is out now thankfully and only two losses so far.

I gave 0s to all the Xmas covers, which was maybe a bit savage for one or two of them. Cried Out Christmas isn't that bad, I just forgot it existed. I don't think I gave anything else a zero... AAAAAA probably got a sympathy score of 1 or 2.

Koocachoo is adorable. Yeah, it's over the top ridiculous, but it does fit Kylie's aesthetic really well. I see (almost) the whole Light Years album as a story about a sudden but passionate summer romance, and Koocachoo totally fits with that. It captures the spirit of the phase of a relationship just past infatuation, where you're still kind of infatuated but also appreciating each other on a deeper level.

Kids is fun. Robbie will never be one of my favorite vocalists, but it's a great song - just a head rush. I totally do not understand why both are so shat on around here.

Koocachoo is definitely gay and might be too much for a lot of listeners, but it captures what I love about Light Years which is the joyful relaxing resort quality of the album that kind of makes one feel like they're on vacation. It's still not as good as the other album tracks, but it's a 7.5 or 8.
